I am first aid and CPR certified, a CNA, and have started taking classes to become a nurse. I have had a variety of medical experience such as working in the University of Utah burn unit which required high medical standards. Have been a CNA for about 6 years now. I initially wanted to be a nurse, but being a D1 student-athlete at Weber State, the clinical hours of nursing and the demands of softball did not work . I love relationship building and companionship as a CNA, that is what makes it all worth it. I recently received my B.S in Healthcare Service Administration and am pursuing a dual master's degree of healthcare and business administration.

I've worked in hospitals most of my life. It's something that I've always loved to do. Knowing I can make someone feel comfortable is something that satisfies me personally.

What makes me become a great caregiver is my grandparents. I was mostly raised by my grandparents and when I was 16 years of age my grandpa was diagnosed and I was the one that helps him most of the time. After my grandpa passed away my grandma was next and I had to take care of her, when grandma passed away that's when I realized I don't have a grandparents anymore and so I decided to look for a caregiver jobs so I can continue on the legacy that my grandparents left behind. Working as a caregiver makes me treat every residents that I get to work with just like how I treat my grandparents. I'm the type of person that I like to smile every time no matter the situations is, so by smiling it helps me with my job as a caregiver, and it helps the patients too feel comfortable with me helping them. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver, is being able to talk with them about life and how they share with me their stories, because I took their stories and apply it to mine and i work towards it. One of my personal achievements that I'm proud of is, seeing my patients happy, is one of my biggest achievements.

I spent 18 years working with the physically and mentally disabled children and adults. I was an occupational and physical therapy assistant with Granite School District. I taught life skills and mentored adults with their transition into independent living which included menu planning, shopping, cooking, budgeting, transportation employment. I am currently caring for my 94 year old mother and all of her daily needs. I provide her meals, bathing, grooming, dressing, transportation, and manage finances and medical care. My love for people is immense and I truly enjoy giving with a smile or a thank you as my reward. I have so much to give and to share and I feel that I can make a positive difference, somewhere!
