I am a state Certified Nursing Assistant and Medication Technician with over twenty years of experience in the healthcare field. I have extensive experience in the healthcare field at hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and home care settings as well as Mother and Baby, OBGYN, Pediatrics, Med-Surg, ICU, Telemetry, Shock Trauma, Phyc, Escorting clients to and from Dr. appointments, running errands, lite housekeeping, medication remindedr, taking vital signs and reporting any deviations to the nurse and working with patients that have Alzheimer's , Dementia and Stroke's. I am a person that can work well for consecutive hours with little or no supervision and still get the job done right. Working as a compassionate healthcare provider has been one of the best accomplishments that I have done in life yet far. I have always been more mature for my age. I grew up as an only child, only hanging around adults. I have always had a caring personality and when I was 18 after I graduated high school I started working as a CNA at an adult day care, caring for geriatrics with dementia. I fell in love with them. They may not be able to remember your name or their own name but they can tell you stories about their childhood that bring warmth to your heart. I am very good at caring for geriatrics, making them feel comfortable in embarrassing situations for them (bathing, changing soiled linen) because they still deserve dignity and respect which I make sure they know they have the upmost respect. Some geriatric patients have a hard time with caregiving because they have literally give up every ounce of independence they used to have which is hard to cope with. My personality is very smiley and happy around geriatrics which makes them feel better. I also have a very loud voice which is an advantage with geriatrics since most are hard of hearing, they can hear me because I tend to speak loudly. I am an RN however I love being a caregiver too. I am very good at caring for people, making them feel comfortable, I am very easy to talk to and educating on medical information also.

Iam great caregiver because I like to keep elderly motivated, push temperature to do things that they may think is impossible for them to achieve. Being a caregiver was not my intention but at the age of 18 I volunteered at Sunrise assisted living, from there I fell in love with learning more about Dementia that progress with age. I became more paitent, caring, loving, empathetic, honest, trustworthy. Also am certified as an Medication Technician. - Some personality traits that make me a great fit to be a caregiver is I am openness , conscientiousness and extraversion . - I wanted to be a caregiver because i always enjoyed taking care of my grandmother and enjoyed making sure she was in good hands. While taking care of my grandmother i thought "everyone should have that person that they trust to have their love with. - The number one that i enjoy most about caregiving is creating a bond and a friendship within the patient. - A personal achievement i accomplished is getting approved for my first house for my son and i , also raising my son.

I have successfully completed a training program and state examination at Morning Star Academy-School of Allied Health in Rockville, MD in 2012. Outside of homecare, my hobbies include taking care of my 3 yo son, practicing special effects makeup, painting and drawing. Previously, I worked in long-term care facilities located in Virginia. I have been working in homecare consistently since 2015. My experience in homecare has been rewarding and less stressful. I love working closely with families and clients to make sure their care and companionship needs are met. I am able to adapt quickly to different working environments. I have been a care giver pretty much since i had kids. My first born was breech with 2 dislocated hips, she was in a harness the first year of her life. She had her first hip surgery at 5 and her second at 16, my middle daughter is a 15 year ALL leukemia cancer survivor, and my youngest daughter had chairi. My mom was DX in 2016 with waldenstroms macroglobulinemia and I was her care giver for 2 years. I work in Internal medicine now and 90% of my patients are elderly and I just adore them. I listen to their stories and I have so much compassion for these fragile human beings. Caring for others the way I hope to be cared for one day is a passion of mine. I do work a full time job Monday- Friday so ideally evenings or weekends would work best for me, but I am looking to find a new job so I'm willing to go full time with a family.
