I have always been more mature for my age. I grew up as an only child, only hanging around adults. I have always had a caring personality and when I was 18 after I graduated high school I started working as a CNA at an adult day care, caring for geriatrics with dementia. I fell in love with them. They may not be able to remember your name or their own name but they can tell you stories about their childhood that bring warmth to your heart. I am very good at caring for geriatrics, making them feel comfortable in embarrassing situations for them (bathing, changing soiled linen) because they still deserve dignity and respect which I make sure they know they have the upmost respect. Some geriatric patients have a hard time with caregiving because they have literally give up every ounce of independence they used to have which is hard to cope with. My personality is very smiley and happy around geriatrics which makes them feel better. I also have a very loud voice which is an advantage with geriatrics since most are hard of hearing, they can hear me because I tend to speak loudly. I am an RN however I love being a caregiver too. I am very good at caring for people, making them feel comfortable, I am very easy to talk to and educating on medical information also.

Iam great caregiver because I like to keep elderly motivated, push temperature to do things that they may think is impossible for them to achieve. Being a caregiver was not my intention but at the age of 18 I volunteered at Sunrise assisted living, from there I fell in love with learning more about Dementia that progress with age. I became more paitent, caring, loving, empathetic, honest, trustworthy. Also am certified as an Medication Technician. I go above and beyond to make sure my client is take care of correctly and receive the correct care.

I'm a 39 yr old mother of 4 children, grandmother to 1 granddaughter. I like being a caregiver because I like being able to help those in need, whether it's physically or mentally. A personal achievement I'm proud of is being able to fill an empty space in my residents life on a daily basis even if it's just helping them pick up something off the floor or just being that extra ear they need to vent when they don't have anyone else. Why I am a great caregiver? I embody the word "care." I believe that I am in this world to be a great caregiver. I cared for six foster children after their mother lost her way and left them to fend for themselves. Their ages ranged from one to seven years old, and they lived with me for seven years. I helped build a home for them, and some of them still reside in that home to this day. As a caregiver, I am very observant and skilled in assisting with the health needs of the care recipient. Caring for others brings me contentment and joy. My profession has taught me how to get along well with many different types of people. the work environment is loaded with a variety of different people with varying personalities. I work well with anyone who delivers what they promise. I have always been able to get along with anyone. It does not matter how difficult some of my co-workers can be, I've always managed to get along with them. I even manage to work well with those whom I do not encounter on a daily basis.
