I became a caregiver because I believe it is in my nature and I am compassionate about helping others. I like being a caregiver because no matter how hard I may work or how my day is going, it doesn't feel like work. I would like to help others by doing what I like. I am a mother of four, very energetic and friendly. I recently left my position full time for a major dialysis company in downtown Baltimore and have been in healthcare for a while and started working for Catholic Charities in May 2017, part time on the weekends. I am hoping to start nursing school fall 2017 and would prefer to work overnight Monday thru Wednesday or Thursday but I have open availability and flexibility with my schedule. My personal achievements that I'm honestly most proud of are my children. I am a Certified Nursing Assitant and Cettified Medication Technician through the Maryland Board of Nursing. I am also CPR and First Aid certified.

I am a state Certified Nursing Assistant and Medication Technician with over twenty years of experience in the healthcare field. I have a good attitude and wonderful work ethic and can keep things running smoothly. Employing someone who is always willing to put in the extra effort, can make all the difference in the world. I was raised by grandparents and that motivated to volunteer and teaching old people to read and write as I wanted them to have the opportunity to understand better it feels good being in control of your life and understanding what's going on so I wanted to give that to old people

What makes me a great caregiver is I love helping others and making them smile. I like hands on work. I'm very responsible, respectful and dependable. I became a caregiver when I first started caring for my grandma who had dementia. The bond you have with your client and the family when you are a great caregiver is a great feeling. I feel that when im older, I would want someone like myself there to help if I need help. Being a caregiver is more then a job, you are responsible for another person's well being.

I have always been more mature for my age. I grew up as an only child, only hanging around adults. I have always had a caring personality and when I was 18 after I graduated high school I started working as a CNA at an adult day care, caring for geriatrics with dementia. I fell in love with them. They may not be able to remember your name or their own name but they can tell you stories about their childhood that bring warmth to your heart. I am very good at caring for geriatrics, making them feel comfortable in embarrassing situations for them (bathing, changing soiled linen) because they still deserve dignity and respect which I make sure they know they have the upmost respect. Some geriatric patients have a hard time with caregiving because they have literally give up every ounce of independence they used to have which is hard to cope with. My personality is very smiley and happy around geriatrics which makes them feel better. I also have a very loud voice which is an advantage with geriatrics since most are hard of hearing, they can hear me because I tend to speak loudly. I am an RN however I love being a caregiver too. I am very good at caring for people, making them feel comfortable, I am very easy to talk to and educating on medical information also.

I have successfully completed a training program and state examination at Morning Star Academy-School of Allied Health in Rockville, MD in 2012. Outside of homecare, my hobbies include taking care of my 3 yo son, practicing special effects makeup, painting and drawing. Previously, I worked in long-term care facilities located in Virginia. I have been working in homecare consistently since 2015. My experience in homecare has been rewarding and less stressful. I love working closely with families and clients to make sure their care and companionship needs are met. I am able to adapt quickly to different working environments. I firmly believe in providing compassionate care to enhance the quality of life for an individual. As a former employee of Snakemans Tattoo Studio I learned the importance of sterilization, blood borne pathogen safety, and customer service.
