I enjoy working with people and helping them in anyway, I am COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) by trade, I have worked in SNF and outpatient therapy for about six years. I love being able to help a patient regain independence and help them compensate with a disability.

I have been caring for the disabled and elderly in my family for several years. I believe that there is a nobility in caring for those who cannot do for themselves and acts of kindness make the world a little better. Caregiving is a job that often goes unnoticed but is very rewarding and brings me peace to know I'm working to make things easier for someone else. A personal achievement that I'm proud of would have to be providing for my daughter and making her smile. It drives me to work hard, so that I can keep doing activities with her that make her happy.

I have worked as a Caregiver for over 15 years. Went to college for LPN. I enjoy working to help & care for people, it is very satisfying to me, I feel it stems from growing up in a large family. I have three grown children & care for three of my Grandchildren full time & love every minute of it, they all are loving, kind, generous, & intelligent for their ages. I am a very compassionate person that truly enjoys taking care of people. I became a CNA to be apart of a team that helps Patients and residents get the best care they deserve and to help in the healing process in whatever way I can. I have worked with the elderly in home and in a hospital setting. I have also worked in a pediatric emergency room and an adult emergency room. I find it extremely rewarding to bring a smile to someone's face that are in a health situation when they feel as if everything is going wrong. I love to give hope even in the worse of situations. My personal achievement that I am proud of is when a patient leaves the hospital and gives me a big hug and thanks me profusely is the best feeling in the world.

Why did you become a Caregiver? My mother lost about 70% of her stomach from cancer and was in need of a Caregiver. I decided to quit my job at the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and become her full-time Caregiver. What do you like about being a Caregiver? Clients really appreciate the service I provide for them. What is a personal achievement you are proud of? Putting my personal needs and wants aside to take care of my mother during a time when she was at her lowest point (emotionally, physically, mentally & financially), due to cancer. Tell us something about yourself. -I have seven years of experience as an Elderly Caregiver (Dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Cancer, Hepatitis B & C, and other medical conditions). -I am Honest, friendly, and very compassionate with all my clients. I know how important it is to focus on helping my clients use the skills they currently possess and to be patient with any limitations they have. -I am a military wife, mom of 4 adult children, and 2 grandchildren. I'm also a part-time student at Florida State College of Jacksonville.

I love my job, I love the clients I work with and I always put my clients first.I cared for my grandfather who had cancer and towards the end of his life he became totally dependent so I had to spend more time with him and I learnt a great deal of skills from that. I am very caring and compassionate! I have a family member that passed away that had a caregiver that was awful to her and I wouldn't wish that on anyone so I would like to change that and try to do whatever I can to make you feel more comfortable!!
