Hello my name is Anastasia and I am a mother of two beautiful girls. I became a caretaker shortly before I had my first daughter as more of a means to an end income wide and fell in love with helping people. I have dabbled in a few other professions but have always come back to helping and taking care of others. As a teen I became sick and could not walk for about a year. With a lot of hard work and a dedicated medical team I was able to regain my mobility back which has given me a great insight on how people who need care feel while they are in their time of need. I feel that my experience has given me the patience needed to allow others the right amount of time to grow and heal themselves. One thing I do love about my job and feel the most proud of is the fact that I am very into taking care of the whole individual not just their ailment. So in tern I tend to find little drastic changes that others miss and, with my own experience in mind, I am able to better understand the feelings of those who do not like having the extra help. I believe that everyone has their own story and just because of either an ailment or old age that story does not just end. It its my duty as a caretaker to help that person continue that story and live their best life the best they can. Why else would anyone want to be a caretaker.

I have dedicated my life to helping others. My background includes providing care to seniors with limited mobility, terminal illnesses ,strokes, dementia, and Alzheimer's disease. In these roles, I consistently team with family members, case managers, hospice and assisted living staff to create an environment conducive to the seniors' physical and mental health. I use a person-centered approach. Learning more about seniors and their needs is important, therefore, I frequently attend pertinent training and classes. My favorite thing about being a caregiver is the fact that your helping others and I love to help. I truly think one of the absolute best things about me in my previous experiences as being a caregiver is I don't look at it like a paycheck. It's a family. I treat residents like they are my own family. What attracted me to being a caregiver was I heard people were being indecent to the residents so I applied to make sure they got treated the way they deserve. I truly know that's what I most enjoyed as a a caregiver because I knew if I was on the floor I knew the residents would have the love and care they needed. My personal achievement is the fact my residents felt the love they needed. It's crucial to family and friends to have a caregiver that cares. That's why I chose this profession when I was young. I'm good at it and the elderly get the care they deserve.
