After a massive Corporate downsizing, I have changed careers and turned to the Healthcare field. I have over 30 years experience taking care of family and clients, ranging from neonatal, special needs including quadriplegia, to hospice care. The last 20 years have also included dementia/stroke, oxygen, TPN, feeding tubes and post operative care. In addition, I have also been asked by 2 clients to become their personal assistant. This included travel to the grocery store, doctor appointments, downsizing homes, moving packing and unpacking, traveling across country and also property managed my clients home while it was on the market to sell. I would like to say that every client along with their family members have been amazing and have welcomed me in their home as one of their own. I enjoy being a Caregiver because it is an act of service. Additionally, it allows me to utilize my passion for the aged and underserved in our community. I am a great caregiver because I provide excellent care to elderly/disabled people who can't do for themselves. I became a caregiver because I love helping people, and it feels good to help someone that's not able to help themselves. I feel that helping someone else makes my day better because I know I made a difference in someone's life whether it's helping a patient bath, eat, get dressed or even assist with walking. A personal achievement that I'm proud of is me being able to work with hospice patients. I was scared to work with hospice patients when I first started as a certified nurses aide, but I work with them everyday now and I love it!!! I'm also a great person to get along with and I can work and a lot of different settings such as nursing homes, home care etc.

What makes me the perfect fit to be a caregiver, is that of course I'm caring, compassionate, loving and outgoing. I love spending time with my residents and I love working one on one, I love to be the person who's there to help when there's no one else that's able to. I like coming in their lives and making it better when no one else can. I'm currently a college student, I attend Robert Morris University and I want to get my bachelors in Surgical Technology and my Masters in Healtcare Management.
