I give service to my customers when they call me for home health needs. My mother had stroke and helpless. I have empathy to work for seniors and family members to help with their daily activities. Giving services with love and patience and understanding that my customers are happy. Doing my job earnestly and truthfully making sure I put a smile on people face.

Caregiving is a very personal job, still I find ways to incorporate love, humor, cheerfulness, fun, hope, trust and optimism into my care. I am a great caregiver because I take pride in my work. I treat my clients as if they are my own when providing care and treatment. I chose to become a caregiver because I have a passion and desire to help and give back to others. Some of my personality traits that make me a great worker are having a lot of patience, knowing how to be kind and gentle, and knowing how to enpathize with my clients throughout their disease process. My name is Delsa and what makes me a great caregiver is my experience and working with different clients from elderly, dementia, disabled, stroke and hospice. 1 What makes you a great caregiver? I'd leave it to others to rate me as a caregiver: my clients, former clients, client's family members. I'd only say that competence, personal integrity and humility (serving and putting others first) are core to the kind of person I endeavor to be in THIS LIFE. 2 Why did you become a caregiver? I became a caregiver because I love ALL peoples, and serving is the best way to demonstrate sincere love, love as defined by N.T. writers This Douglas Adams quote says it best: "To give real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity." 3. What do you like about being a Caregiver? I'm gratified when the care I provide exactly meets the client's needs and allows family members to confidently have a guilt-free break from the care of an aging, ill, or disabled family member. (There are two in my family) 4. What is a personal achievement you are proud of? -I was picked to be on a team assembled to care for a quadriplegic client. I had the privilege of providing her professional home healthcare: meal preps, tub baths, light housekeeping, from bed to chair transfers, (without HoyerLift) She also required a colostomy bag and urinary catheter care. -I'm also proud to have been selected, from a relatively large number of candidates, to assist a family dedicated to the care of a loved one severely disabled by Autism. -Most recently, I enjoyed the privilege of helping to provide 24-hour care for a SECOND quadriplegic client: a large male, requiring assistance with no HoyerLift transfers, tub baths, lots of passive ROM & OT prescribed exercises, scheduled repositioning while asleep, and more -I once successfully self-prepared at home for a proctored Microsoft exam. -Self-instructed, I can speak some Spanish and some Mandarin Chinese. 5. Tell us something about yourself. Grandfather of 4 -lifelong Bible student -love: Gospel hymns, animals, plants, walks, ping pong, audiobooks.

I became a caregiver because I love caring for others and I like knowing that I made a difference in someone's life. I am very proud of myself for becoming independent. I am very friendly, honest, a people person, and I am always smiling, even on my worst days. I have a great sense of humor and I also love anticipating the needs of others.

I am calm, I enjoy assisting others, I enjoy putting a smile on people's faces by making them happy, I empathize with those in need, and I am useful wherever I am. I am a compassionate person who enjoy helping others. I'm a registered CNA with CPR/BLS and EKG training, in Texas. I have over 20 years of experience with the elderly and disabled. After many years of working in a Hospital Business Office by day and caring for a family member at night, I decided to become a Caregiver to others. I know first hand what it is like to need assistance with the care of a loved one and realizing that you can't be there 24 hrs a day. The uncertainty of trusting someone else to do it for you can cause anxiety. I promise you that I will treat your loved one with kindness, dignity and respect, the same way I would like my loved ones to be treated. This isn't just a job for me, it is a ministry and a passion.
