I like the flexibility of being a caregiver and it's not a stagnant job. Everyday there's something new. It works with my schedule as well with returning back to school and the benefits of being useful to someone that truly appreciates it is rewarding within itself

I'm very easy going and nurturing. It's a blessing in itself to be able to be of service to anyone in need. The different personalities and knowing I made this person's day a little easier. The growth and growing of me!

I became a caregiver in 2004 because I'd spent the last few years of my grandmother's life helping her while she suffered with Alzheimers. I saw how important it was for them to have someone there to help them with the day to day when family couldn't be. Then after I got into the profession my love for helping others just grew. To see the joy it brings to the person to sometimes just have someone there for a companion. I work full time at Rusk State Hospital working closely with clients on Therapeutic Rehabilitation. I went back to part time home health again in July 2021 and am so thankful that I did. In the last 4 years I've worked with some of the absolute most wonderful families. One client even always told his wife, "I'm sure glad she's coming today because I miss her, she's a sweet little girl". I feel such a connection with my clients that to me, they aren't just clients, they are family! I go above and beyond during my visits, I dont just cook and clean. I help out with things from small art projects to flower gardening with my clients, whatever makes them smile that day is what they needed. I am currently on my CPR and Basic Life Support Certification as well.

I believe what makes me a great caregiver is that i have alot of compassion for my residents. I love taking care of others i enjoy seeing the smiles on people's face and love being around others

I try to be 5 Minutes early at least if you are on time you are late. I've been a caregiver over Since 2002. Caring for other people is very rewarding. What I enjoy the most about caregiving is the relationship that you built A Trusting relationship. I am very proud of the fact that I am honest. It is really hard to find nowadays, especially in young people. I am reliable, dependable, and on time kind of person. I like to work smarter not harder. I do take pride in my work.

In order to be a good care giver you must have compassion and empathy. Remember this elderly person will be you one day. Treat other as you would want to be treated. Love heals all and if you don't put love into your day to day actions, the only thing you have to offer is misery.

Being a caregiver involves being compassionate,caring,patience and truly committed.I have those qualities and it holds a special place in my heart .My mom lives with me and a take care of her daily.I love the most that I can make a difference in someone else's life because that is what I was called to do in life.Im a mother and now get to mother my mother..the greatest goal ever.

I have been a paramedic for the last 20 years and am planning to go to nursing school online. I also have young children in elementary. I am needing to have more flexibility for school and for my children than ems gives me. I am well-educated on medical problems and how to treat them, and have also been an instructor for many medical courses. I enjoy taking care of people and look forward to helping people around their homes.
