I become a caregiver beacuse I love working with people and I work with my mom and brother before they pass away and I know and understand how hard it would be on the person who is caring for their love one,and I like that the person whom am caring for can count on me to be there for them and will always look out for them and put them first always.My bigest achievement is watching someone went from I can't do it to am doing it( which mean I work on a case when the person could not walk again and he did not want to do his exercise and I would explain to him everyday I work with him that if he want to do most of the things he say he missed doing and like doing he will have to do his exercise everyday and he will see that he could walk again, and I tell him that everyday and get him to trust me and I got him to walk again and to me that was big. i'm 36 years old and a mother of two and I love to work with people and I have 16 years of managers exeperance and customer serive, and I had also manager three group homes and one of them I was the live-in house manger and I love that for I would get to hire the persons that I know who would love what we do just as I love what I do, and would not mined treating our client as part of the family.

I have always been more mature for my age. I grew up as an only child, only hanging around adults. I have always had a caring personality and when I was 18 after I graduated high school I started working as a CNA at an adult day care, caring for geriatrics with dementia. I fell in love with them. They may not be able to remember your name or their own name but they can tell you stories about their childhood that bring warmth to your heart. I am very good at caring for geriatrics, making them feel comfortable in embarrassing situations for them (bathing, changing soiled linen) because they still deserve dignity and respect which I make sure they know they have the upmost respect. Some geriatric patients have a hard time with caregiving because they have literally give up every ounce of independence they used to have which is hard to cope with. My personality is very smiley and happy around geriatrics which makes them feel better. I also have a very loud voice which is an advantage with geriatrics since most are hard of hearing, they can hear me because I tend to speak loudly. I am an RN however I love being a caregiver too. I am very good at caring for people, making them feel comfortable, I am very easy to talk to and educating on medical information also.

I have successfully completed a training program and state examination at Morning Star Academy-School of Allied Health in Rockville, MD in 2012. Outside of homecare, my hobbies include taking care of my 3 yo son, practicing special effects makeup, painting and drawing. Previously, I worked in long-term care facilities located in Virginia. I have been working in homecare consistently since 2015. My experience in homecare has been rewarding and less stressful. I love working closely with families and clients to make sure their care and companionship needs are met. I am able to adapt quickly to different working environments. I firmly believe in providing compassionate care to enhance the quality of life for an individual. As a former employee of Snakemans Tattoo Studio I learned the importance of sterilization, blood borne pathogen safety, and customer service. I also learned the value of communication, critical thinking skills, time management, and teamwork while working as a CNA at Golden Living Center and Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury (SVWC). I am determined to continue to advance in learning and skills. I have demonstrated reliability and hard work in the past and continue to do so. I look forward to hearing from you.

Why I am a great caregiver? I embody the word "care." I believe that I am in this world to be a great caregiver. I cared for six foster children after their mother lost her way and left them to fend for themselves. Their ages ranged from one to seven years old, and they lived with me for seven years. I helped build a home for them, and some of them still reside in that home to this day. As a caregiver, I am very observant and skilled in assisting with the health needs of the care recipient. Caring for others brings me contentment and joy. My profession has taught me how to get along well with many different types of people. the work environment is loaded with a variety of different people with varying personalities. I work well with anyone who delivers what they promise. I have always been able to get along with anyone. It does not matter how difficult some of my co-workers can be, I've always managed to get along with them. I even manage to work well with those whom I do not encounter on a daily basis. In summary, working well with others simply means, having great work ethics, personality, and a passion for delivering what you promise. I have great communication skills and can work with many different types of people of varying personalities and skill levels. I am motivated, disciplined, and focused and I am determined to get my job done well and on time. Changing the way people age, is part of my daily activity.

I know the reason that I am a great caregiver because I care about the people that I take care of. I treat each and everyone as a part of my family. It is not about the job but how you want someone to treat your love one, that is the reason I became a caregiver.

I started my career as a caregiver at the age of 16, my first job was at a nursing home, this was before having to be certified. All trainig was on the job. In 1980 I recieved my first certification as a Geriactic aide. In 1990 I recieved my certification as Certified Nursing Certificate. I had a child with special needs in 1985, I started working with people with disabilities, I worked with ARC for 26 years. I view caregiving as not only a job, but also as a gift from God. love helping people. I am a Christian, I teach Sunday school . I recieved a certificate in alchohol and drug addiction in 2017. My desire is to start a support group at my church.

The reason why I became a caregiver is because I like helping people. The thing I like about being a caregiver is that I can help someone that is in need. A personal achievement in my life that I made was getting my cna and gna license. I have been a caregiver at the age of 18. I had to take care of my dad before he passed and I also took care of my grandmother that fell down the stairs and broke her ankle. Im a great caregiver because I love the fact I can give assistance to someone who may need a help and hand. I'm also a CPR instructor.

I am very energetic, well-organized, I love to get things done, positive and I love everything to be CLEAN and in its place. I started my caregiver experience by looking after an older lady when I was in college. After that my mother had dementia and I was her caregiver for ten years. For 3 months I took care of my husband aunt who had stage 4th cancer. I continued to care for other adults. I enjoy being a companion -- helping people feel valued and need it is very important to me. I being in a marriage for 27 years, have 5 kids, very stable in my relationship with my husband and my kids. Love education , enjoy serving people.
