Before immigrating to the United States, I used to live in Nigeria where I had the opportunity to spend time with my grandparents as well as my nephews and nieces. Taking care of elderly patients just like the way I helped my grandparents' with their grooming, feeding, and assisting with choices is fulfilling. These are natural traits that I have cultivated and helped me in taking great care of my grandparents. It is these abilities that I have been applying to my daily life as a caregiver. As earlier mentioned, I am enthusiastic about helping the elderly because due to their age, they may neglect their basic needs. The elderly often forget to take their medications and how to independently care for themselves such as bathing , cooking, and house cleaning, etc. Also, as a caregiver, my understanding of human nature has broadened my empathy of the immense diversity of people such as the way they behave, and speak which is one of the requirements I need in the pursuit of my career goal as a pharmacist.
