Hello, my name is Mayra Flores, I am currently a Masters in nursing student at San Francisco State university, I have my CNA license since 2010, I have experience working in The Ridge Rehab Center in Salinas CA, been a caregiver for seniors in Monterey CA, and done Clinical rotations in San Francisco General Hospital and UCSF. I am knowledgeable and understanding of senior needs, have worked with dementia and Alzheimer’s patients understand their various needs. My passion for this work started when, as a college undergrad, I stumbled into an opportunity to be a home health aid for a man experiencing parapaegia. This passion was then reignited when as a grad student, I worked as a private caregiver for people in an assisted living facility. This work is all about connecting with others in a genuine way, and by building relationship with one another, we can create the opportunity to make the best out of less than ideal circumstances.

What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is making them feel comfortable and sharing companionship. The reason why I became a caregiver was because I want to make people feel better and even with a conversation can make someone's day be brighter. Although I can be shy in the beginning being in my element allows me to be the bright person I am.

Hello, I'm a very kind and laid back kind of person. I have traveled and I'm well educated. I have spent most of my career with special needs children but also worked with the elderly and disabled adults while in grad school. I like to talk story with clients but also can be quiet when need be. I love to cook. I love animals and nature. I enjoy helping the elderly and they have so much to teach us.
