After being a at home mother , taking care of various elder family members I felt it was my calling to help elder. I find it rewarding and appreciated to help others in need. My personal achievements are 28 years of marriage ,raising 2 kind children , building a home, running a business. I am respectful,compassionate,patient,responsible,friendly and kind hearted.

I am an artists with a lot of passions in life. I enjoy hiking, ballroom and salsa dancing, skiing, fishing, gardening, nature, games, music, photography, plays and musicals. I am getting close to my BA in fine arts. I really enjoyed Cultural Anthropology, Philosophy, Ethics, Biology, in fact I love College. I love all animals! After breast cancer and other life hardships, I have realized the important things in life are about people, relationships and love. I understand how it feels to feel helpless and to need help, how it feels to live in fear, depression, and letting go. My own personal experience gives me a unique perspective for understanding those who are experiencing loss in one form or another. It has increased my level of compassion and empathy. Because of this I have done well as a caregiver. With each new person I look for what helps make them feel safe and secure along with what they look forward each day. Also I pay attention to when to be quiet, when to give them their quiet time, when to listen. I love to bring smiles and laughter and I love to love. Domestic: I do not do a sloppy job in cleaning and don't mind yard work or poop scooping. I have knowledge of healthy cooking and can follow any recipe. I became a care giver because of my grandmother and mother, I seen how they was being mistreated so I stepped in and took over and gave them the attention and services that they needed. My name is Laura Hope and I was a caregiver for a 95 year old woman for 3 1/2 years in Tarzana. Even though she had dementia and could not remember my name, I was know to her as "my girl" and we had a very caring relationship. During that time, I became very fond of her and treated her like my family. My responsibilities were to assist her in making it to her potty chair, changing her diapers, administering her medications and making sure we always had them on hdd Photoand, making all her meals, getting her dressed, having the same conversations (over and over) knowing what she liked to do in her daily habits, getting her to her doctors appointments, and administered to all her needs. I also tried to keep her days fun for her. After she broke her hip and was in the rehabilitation center, I stayed with her and followed up on what she needed and wanted, kept in communication with her doctors and let them know the best way to handle her to get her to do what she needed to do. While at her stay at the rehab center, she got a stage 4 bed sore so I learned how to change her dressings when she was released. I have a very healthy respect for the elderly and enjoy hearing about all the things they have witnessed in their lifetime. I always treat them with dignity and respect.

The reason I became a care giver was because of my mother Dora Jackson. My mother has had cancer four times, she has had lupus and is currently on dialysis. I am a only child and I have been there for my mother going with here to every chemo-therapy and radiation treatment that she has had. I have learned a lot from here going through here challenging moments in here life, and talking to other people that have been going through the same situations as my mother was going through. The reason I enjoy being a care giver is because I like helping people. I know there are some people in life that are not able to have their family help them when they get older for whatever the case my be and they need some one their to show them that they care and that they are not alone and to simply bring a smile on their face. My personal achievement that I am proud of was being the first person in my family to graduate from college although I only have my associates degree in animation from El Camino College. I am proud to say that I am going back to school next January at Cal State La to get my B.A Degree in Animation. Over all I am a man that loves my family, I love going to church and love helping people and making a difference in someone's life.

1. I graduated from CNA/HHA in 2006 , I have always done nursing rather it was helping my grandmother or working at the hospital. I am a natural Caregiver. 2. I just like being needed, helpful, and when I am giving care to someone I treat them as if they are my own family members. I feel no one can provide the care that I can give because mines come with LOVE. 3. I am proud of being the first of my family to graduate from college. An AS in only the beginning for me, my achievements are endless. 4. I've worked under every circumstance, from Geriatrics, Pediatrics, Emergency Room and more. Because of my experience with nursing , I would be the perfect care giver. 5. I am also a professional photographer and that is what I do on my spare time. Even photos put smiles and peoples faces and I love that !
