I'm a reliable and trustworthy 31 year old caregiver. I have five years of experience working with memory impaired patients. I have worked with bed bound and assisted living adults. I speak fluent English and Spanish. I am pursuing a BSN. I have a flexible schedule and I'm ready to start as soon as possible. I'm a 23 years old caregiver who became Interested in caregiving after my father had a stroke and wasn't able to help himself my mother and I had to help him do his daily activities and then I had looked online for ways to better take care of him and that's when I came across for vocational classes in home health aid , in those classes I learned how much I enjoy helping and learning about how to help others not just my father . I have had the privilege to be able to take care of 2 residents within the 2 years that I have been doing this job . I am proud to say that with the skills such as learning to bath, transfer ,proper feeding , companionship I learned in my home health aid classes at Mt.Sac I was able to take care of them properly and with care until their passing . I genuinely enjoy my job and knowing that I did my best to take care of those who no longer can take care of themselves , not only as a job but as if they were a family member . I believe what makes me a great caregiver is not the only the skills I have acquired but also the understanding and empathy I have for the elderly and those who have challenges on their day to day lives .

I assisted my mother in caring for my great-grandmother once she was diagnosed with dementia at 92 years of age. I then realized how it takes a special type of person to gently handle and understand patients with this diagnosis. My grandmother became combative and would refuse care from the nurses while in the hospital. Some nurses had patience with her and others did not. I would stay at the hospital with her and bathe her as well as feed her just to make sure she was well taken care of. Working at a nursing home as a CNA was my first job. I was inspired by my grandmother to treat all of my patients the same way I wanted those nurses to treat my grandmother while they were going through their difficult time. Afew years later my mom was diagnosed with cancer and I moved back home to take care of her while she went through her treatments and went into remission. I now have been employed at California hospital for the last 5 years and most of my patients tell me that I have a gift and that I was their angel. I love helping others and doing anything that I can do to help them with having a good day. I am a very compasionate and empathetic person who's a hard worker. Nursing and nurturing is just apart of who I am.

I am a very caring and patient person I love working with people interacting and taking care of them. I have experience with caregiving due to having an older brother in his 30s with Down syndrome and I've been helping my mom to take care of him since I could remember till this day so I'm very hands on very good at learning new techniques fast learner and myself as a mom I have a son who's in therapy and I help him cope with certain mechanisms or challenging things he goes through in life. being a caregiver is very important to me because I like to take care of people and making them feel like they have someone that's there to take care of them lookout for them.
