What makes me a good caregiver is that I like helping people and I have always been this way. I have worked in the medical field for over 24 years and have always enjoyed being with my patients. Helping them in any way I can (getting them fresh water,cleaning their space, assisting with eating, respiratory care, etc... Seeing them smile for any reason is a great feeling. I know in home caregiving patients are "clients" and clients soon become friends. A friend that I would care for. I reside in Oak Lawn IL. My Daughter and Grandaughter live with me year round and my Son stays with us seasonally. I am 59 and ready to make a career change. I have not been employed for the last 15 months. I have been keeping busy being a different kind of caregiver. Meaning I have been my Grandaughters caregiver. My elderly neighbor has a caregiver that comes to his home twice a day everyday. I have great respect for her and have come to the conclusion that it is time for me to make a change in careers and this is what I would like to do for many years to come. I have cared for many patients but I also cared for my Grandfather for 5 years until his passing. I also cared for my Mother for many years until she passed. My Sister when she was layed up due to a roller skating fall and my Son when he had a really bad fall down a flight of stairs. I feel I qualify to be a caregiver and I hope you think so too. I will still be caring for my Grandaughter until the coming fall season. Which is at the most three days a week. Weekdays. For now I am hoping to work part time and I would not only be available 2 or 3 days a week but I would really like to weekends.

I would go visit my grandmother's great aunt in a nursing home and would just observe everything going on around me. I've always been empathetic towards animals and the elderly at a young age. I knew after a few visits at the nursing home that was where I wanted to work. I felt such empathy for the elderly I was seeing while visiting my grandma's great aunt. I would help the other paitents when i saw they needed help at my visit. So I decided to get Certified as a Nursing Assistant and that's what I did since a young age of 18. I've met so many wonderful people over the years with many memories I'll never forget. I believe taking care of the sick elderly is what God wanted me to do. I have such a big heart filled with tons of compassion for what I do. I'm a hard worker....I love all animals and love to clean as well if needed. Being a CNA is what my calling is here on earth. I have worked at such facilities as The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Macneal hospital in Berwyn, and home health companies. I have mostly open availability. Currently, my CPR card has expired, however, I am more than willing to get it renewed.

My name is Cynthia Flores and I am 20 years young. I would describe myself as a very caring, hardworking, respectful, and intelligent person. When I initially started working, I was just a sales associate at whatever retail store hired me until I found a position to be a caregiver. I started being a caregiver in July 2020 and have been loving it ever since. As a caregiver, I often cook, clean, do laundry, and take my patient to and from wherever they need to go. Since compassion is key, I often like to play board games and do puzzles just to keep my patient engaged and alert. Overall, being a caregiver brings me great joy because I love interacting and building bonds with people.

I felt called to work with disabled adults. I began by working in an intermediate care facility where I fell in love with the residents! Since that time, I have worked in private home care with both disabled adults and the elderly. I have a reputation for my excellent care and personal touch with each person. I have also decided to pursue a career in nursing, and have acquired my CNA license in the state of Illinois this past summer. I gained my CNA certification in April 2010. I worked in a hospital for 4 years on a Cardiac Floor. I performed vital signs, hourly rounds, Activities of daily living, changed linens, and bed baths. While working there i was trained to perform EKG testing and certified to draw blood. After having my son i decided to move to the home health field to get my desired hours and not lose out on spending time with my son.

Hello my name is Eva, I started my career as a Certified Nurse at Christ Hospital in 1998. I then was married in 2000 and stared a wonderful family of 3 boys about two years apart. Now that they are all grown up I have continued my expertise of what I was good at in care giving. I was certified in 2017 in Alzheimer's and Dementia. I have been working as a care giver part time. Hi! Nice to meet you my name is Jenna Olszewski. I completed my CNA certificate and Moraine Valley in early August and now i am in search of the perfect job! I have always been a very caring, outgoing, patient and empathetic person and i think that's what drew me to being a caregiver. That and both my mother and sister are nurses. I spent most of my time at the end/after high school being a care aide for my grandfather, who broke his leg in 2015, until he unfortunately passed away in 2016. After that i went immediately into being the primary caregiver of my father who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2017 until he passed away March of this year. I understand what it means to put your parent in the care of others and how new and frightening it might be but i promise to take care off them like they were my own family member. I think what makes me great is I always start of the day by talking to them asking them what's going on how they sleep start a conversation ask questions. And make sure to be on your best behavior don't stress out or get angry just be patient.
