When I started out as a caregiver I looked forward to spending time with people who I knew I could share life with as I served and assisted them with daily living needs. It has been such a rewarding experience as I have been able to do this and gain the rewarding benefit of working for and with people. I enjoy the opportunity to be able to help others with their ADL's that they need assistance with and to see them perform tasks independently when they are able to. My patience, the time I spend with them, and my positive energy are a few of my strengths that also help me to succeed as a strong caregiver. I understand that every person is different and at a different stage or place in life. It is a joy for me to help a client and to share life with the people that I care for.

I started helping with elderly after "raising" my grandparents, who both had Parkinson's. They had such amazing stories and loved to talk about their early years. People just want someone to listen to them. That is mostly what makes the elderly happy. Then later after I retired from my career in Corporate America, I began sitting again. I've had clients I stayed 2-3 days straight to just a few hours a week.

I have always enjoyed helping others reach their potential in life . I am very compassionate with others love to help or just listen to my client I love to stay busy and feeling of work finished . Like to include family in system of care of client .The family is the backbone usually of client . I recieved my Human Service Certificate in 2011 and also working on Non licensed chemical dependency counseler . I know each client is seperate individual there is no cookie cutter of an client

i have been a care giver for 7 years wt one lady 12 hrs every day until she passed away.give her a bed bath every day, help her ADL'S and personal hygiene.i'am a CNA as well since 2003.light house keeping,cooking grocery shopping assist wt her Meds.take her to doctor appt.and give her a haircut.color or perm her hair shampoo and style.i'am also lic.cosmetology.i love to do her hair because it make me feel good and make her feel good as well.i grow to really love this lady.her famillies are all living far away.i'am a very passionate caring and loving person and honesty is the best policy.i love her and truly missed her she is in Glen abby cemetery now when ever i visit her.rest in peace my dear Friend Ellen.
