I am a great caregiver because I anticipate what the person I care for needs and will do it for them without having to be asked. I go above and beyond what is expected of me. I am extremely caring and loving towards the people I care for. I am strong and healthy and that makes my clients feel very safe while assisting them with walking or transfers. I love caring for the elderly. They have a world of experience to share.

I have always considered to care for individuals who need assistance in their homes. Most experience is from taking care of clients and family members. Training has also given me the knowledge and experience working with family memebers who count on the care of other family members to care for them. I like being able to make clients comfortable when in need of home care. I like seeing a smile on there faces for the help and support I can provide for them. My personal achievements are being able to work and continue my education. I have a wonderful family three kids of my own and always likes to shop or just a walk on the beach and watch the sunset. Always kind and cinsiderate of their emotions , caring, and always making sure my client is comfortable. Very patient with people, warm hearted. Having a close family member needing special attention for the rest of his life inspired me to be dedicated in the healthcare area. This has allowed me to experience many different care options and given me the opportunity to understand conditions as well. Being a caregiver is very rewarding, when the client tells you, that you are a wonderful caregiver.I enjoy being a caregiver people depend on me being my best to help them, making sure there needs are taken care of. After being a caregiver I achieve getting my CNA license, to give higher better care in the medical field, being the best person I can be for others. I am a Licensed Dementia Care Practitioner and the owner of North Mountain Homecare, with over 20+years of experience in the senior care industry. I specialize in dementia care, and I am extremely passionate about helping to educate caregivers and families about the disease. I am currently attending University of Phoenix online to complete my BS in Healthcare Administration. My experience with seniors and families includes Dementia Care, Hospice Support, Companion Care, Rehab, Post-Surgical Assistance, Personal Care, Respite Care, Medication Reminders, and Errands. I have my level one fingerprints Clearence card and my CPR / BLS. I have also been vaccinated for covid and had my Booster. I am passionate about the job that I do when it comes to assisting seniors and their families.

I think of myself as a realist with a witty sense of humor; others might say outgoing or bubbly, however I am very reserved and an introvert. If my memory is correct, I have taken care of some very ill family members since the young age of 9 yrs old, which has giving me lots of good knowledge and lots of medical hands-on background and experience. Introvert? Caregiver? So why make a career out of caregiving? I wanted a career change and its better than working for free (giggle), plus both, my clients and me, need companionship. Win! Win! What I believe that makes me a great caregiver is that I love and respect myself, family and friends especially my grandparents. I have worked with special needs clients that are dealing with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Intellectual Disorders, and Epilepsy Disorder. I have a child of my own with special needs. Some People look at it as very challenging, But NOT ME!! I look at it as the best opportunity to show them the best comfort and service that they need. I'm very understanding and patient. My job is to be there for them at all times and protect them from their doubts. I want to present more happiness in their life.

E X P E R I E N C E It seems I've been a Caregiver all my life beginning in my early 20's as a Nurses Aide. At 60 I've since added to my 'life resume', caring for my elderly parents, a younger brother diagnosed with Progressive Multiple Sclerosis and currently two patients with various health issues. It's my opinion that allowing whomever I'm caring for the ability to keep their dignity and normal lifestyle, is paramount. I honestly don't consider myself a Caregiver so much as an assistant or helper to my patient. Equally important is minimizing if not erasing any worries their family may have knowing they're loved one is safe and properly taken care of. Fulfilling these goals, at least for myself, are what makes doing the job all worth while. I've experienced being 'on the other end' and am all too aware of how mentally and physically draining it can be to either not have help, or not have the right kind of help.
