I became a caregiver when I thought about helping others. I like the idea of getting to know people and live by the golden rule: do unto others as you would have done unto you. I am proud to say I am a people-person, I enjoy listening to stories people have, the learning experience of what they have been through throughout their lives. They know what is wrong with them better than I do, they may even have a remedy that I have not yet heard or thought of. I helped an elderly lady get through some of her nights, helped her to the mailbox, took walks with her, went to store with her, helped her plan her meals and set up her pills for the day. When she became to ill that her family wanted her into a nursing home, I felt left out. I enjoyed working for her.I have a college degree in business administration in health care because I wanted to be able to give back. Unfortunately those jobs are few and far between, so I started working papa john's. There were times elderly people order pizza's just to be able to see other people and talk for just a couple minutes. They even need someone to pick up their newspapers for them because they might have been at the end of the driveway. Some just need someone to help round of their dogs or cats to put into the house. It made them smile and their faces light up. I enjoyed what I could do and want a job where I could help someone. I have worked with several elderly people, from Maryland to Durham. I enjoy it.

I became a caregiver to provide great care for people who have worked their whole lives. They deserve to live carefree with great care. I enjoy giving senior citizen a reason to carry on with life instead of just being alive. While in this career my most proud achievement is taking my client from a wheelchair to using a walking, after he was told he could never walk again. I have my own independent studies focusing on Alzheimer's disease.

My personal accomplishment is when I leave a client and to be assigned to another, and thay first client request for me to come back, I know I did my job right. 4. I am a people person, love to talk to my clients to get to know them, I work very hard, if I don't know something eager to learn. I have an good attitude, I multiple task assignments.

I am kind, patient and trustworthy. I have provided care for a family member after a double transplant with medications, walks, hospital and lab visits as well as just being a good listener. I am a great housekeeper and I can prepare meals. **My mother needed assistance with making the adjustment to having home care as well as her walker level of comfort with using a walker. I was able to fly to Oregon and stay FOR A PERIOD OF TIME helping her to ease into the transition.**

I became a care giver to seven mentally handicapped women in 2008. I found great joy in assisting these women with their daily lives..including personal care. These women became an important part of my life and like family to me. In 2010 , I became a caregiver for elderly and physically handicapped individuals. I enjoy bringing happiness and companionship to my clients. I am a mother of six children and being a caregiver is just a part of my personality! I believe everyone deserves respect and dignity no matter what their circumstances are. Being a caregiver gives me a sense of making a positive difference in anothers life.

I became a caregiver mainly because it was a field I can take care of others in time in need. I t gave me the capability to utilize my caring skills for others. The title caregiver gives me the sense that a good sense that somebody is in good hands using professionalism, flexibility, determination, also open heart. I found a worked with a good friend and kept it professional with my patient I worked with for ten years. We did a lot of things keeping the friendship alive. Since we liked the same movies, we went to the movies a lot. We liked almost the same foods, and we went out to eat a lot. We both like to go fishing also he would like to talk about his past, about family, old friends. I got to know him better over the years. I myself am a family man, I love to be around my family, even on my days off. I also focus on out door sports to keep myself busy, when I'm not around my family.

I am a great caregiver because I care about people, and I love helping older people. I like the feel and gratification that it gives to know that I can be of assistant to someone in need. I enjoy taking care of older people because they enjoy the company.

I love helping people, seeing a smile on their face knowing that someone cares, making them feel special by showing them respect and dignity. A personal achievement I am proud of was when I decided at my age to go back to school and get my degree, for me to better my self. I am 12 credits away from my degree. I am married, have three adult children, two in Hawaii, one in Washington, DC.

I took care of my father, who had two lung diseases and other health challenges as the years went by until his death on May 7, 2015. It was an honor and a privilege. I have been doing this type of work for years because i enjoy it. Helping others is so beneficial to me in many ways.

I was primary caretaker of my mother for over twenty years, and took care of my mother during her entire hospice care time of six months. My mother was not an easy pliable person, nor was she a hard person, she was however my mother and deserving of respect and loving care. All people should be treated with respect and tenderness. I have reflected back on my life and if I could go back in time I would have chosen another path for my career, I would have chosen taking care of people in a different capacity other than teaching. I taught for some years in different grade levels but would have loved to have been given the chance to care for those who are unable to care themselves. Perhaps as a nurse or social work, but now that I am nearing retirement I can place myself in a more useful position of employment and help those out who can't do it all by themselves any more with respect and dignity.

Being a companion/caregiver is the most rewarding job. My goal in spending time and assisting them to live their daily lives is to enhance and ease their living conditions. My achievement is to assist them in being able to remain in their own homes as long as possible. Make sure they have daily memory stimulation. Continue to keep them active. Just to give them the most joy they can receive. I'm a very caring and lovable person. Always keep them laughing it brightens their days.

I became a care giver because I enjoy helping others . Nursing assistant is a valuable and important career in today's society. The elderly need help at times and this is when I come in to help with daily activities . My personal achievement is going back to school to become a administrator . I became a caregiver because I love helping disable and elderly meet their basic home care needs they need. What i like about being a caregiver is the added support and feeling they get knowing someone is there who wants to help. Growing up My Grandma Was Very Sickly. She Had Sickle Cell Anemia And Seeing Her Go Into Crisis And Seeing Her In Pain Made Me Want To Help Her Made Me Want To Help Others.I Was 7 years old at her bed side helping her. I love being able to help others who can't help there selves.helping them to there satisfaction. Working hard for them just to make there lives easier. I am proud of my seven years as a care giver and my cpr and first aid certificate and seeing the many residents I have helped living a happier and safer life. I am very compassionate and dependable. I work extra hard and I am very trust worthy and loving.

I want to become a caregiver because I witnessed they way my step-dad was treated by my sister and it did not sit well with me. The best thing I ever did was take over taking care of him I was allowed to spend his last days showing him how much I loved him and that he was the most important man in my life.
