I found my passion for caregiving in 2008 when attending CNA classes with my niece to keep her company. I fell in love with being able to be a blessing to people and a time when they are most vulnerable. I started the LVN program in 2015 and graduated in the tip of my class in 2016. I am currently studying for my state exam. I am honest compassionate and hard working. I treat my client's and their love ones the exactly how I would want my family member treated. Hey I'm 21 year old icilma waite who has been a cna for 2 years. Help patients who are in need has always been my dream because growing up in my home town Belize I had to go take care of my grandfather right after I get out school and still has to do home work. The work load was never a problem to me because I was doing something for my grandfather that I know will bless me in the near feature. So I decide to migrate to the US and I told my self I love that feeling of helping others who are in need so I decided to persuade my dreams and went to nursing school whereby I earned my cna license in 2019. I've been so happy know that what I'm doing in this world is helping people who are in need and I always go by the god I serve will bless because of the helping had I hand out to people who are in need .

i became a caregiver because at a verry young age i loved helping people as i got older i really seen it was my calling to help people especially the elderly with every day task so they still have the freedom and not take there independents away from them and this was a way to do it .. i became a a certified medical assistant in 2011 but have worked in a nursing home since i was 20 . Now that i came to california , i go to there homes which is much more rewardable knowing with our help we make it possible.

Being a caregiver you have many roles. I adapt quickly to changes according to client’s needs. As a caregiver I serve as a home health aide, companionship. and advocate to every client I care for. The bottom line is I care about those that can't care for themselves. My philosophy in life is to treat others as I wish to be treated. I think what's makes me a great caregiver is the fact I am going to school to become a licensed vocational nurse so I have been training to know different medications and learning different medical issues and how to deal with different situations in a calm manner. This will be a different avenue of the medical field and more of a flexible schedule compared to a hospital or convalescence home.

I decided to become a caregiver because I have a big heart and am passionate about helping others. For the past 10 years i have spend a lot of time taking care of terminally ill step father until he past away in 2005 and now i am caring for my mother now.
