I've been a caregiver for over 10 years. I have expertise and knowledge to my clients the best care they deserve. I am a caring person, professional, punctual, hard working and have the dedication that it takes to give to a client. I'm not just a caregiver but a companion. I've taken vitals, administered insulin, cleaning and changing bandages on infectious wounds due to diabetes. I also have experience with Dementia. I also do bed baths, assist in showers, toileting, Range of motion(ROM) and light house cleaning. I Love helping people, making people smile, enjoy life and when i see that in my clients it makes me want to do more.

I became a caregiver for a family friend in a devastating situation, after months of care I realized I love taking care, helping and just making them feel cared for and loved, I enjoy making them feel better and giving them a laugh and something to smile about, I love making conversation and getting to know new people and the stories they have to share. Hi, I'm Lani. I have been passionate about taking care of seniors since I was relatively young. My interest sparked in 2013 when my grandfather was diagnosed with cancer and progressive dementia ,and I was the only one around to care for him. When he passed away (bless his soul), I felt not just an emptiness because he was gone but because I still had a yearning to take care of somebody. I am currently a care manager at a senior home in the memory care area. I care for 9 lovely people with dementia daily. I am fully comfortable and educated on hoyer lifts/transfers, continence , bathing, feeding, clothing, and emotional support /building connections and more. I am searching for an opportunity to provide some rest to someone who is looking for a responsible caregiver for their loved one. And bring comfort to a senior in need of a friend, someone to care for them with ease and happiness while doing so. am confident and secure that I am capable of caring long term for any senior with any situation. I feel it is not only important to help the client, it is important to help the family as a whole if there is difficulty. I look forward to providing counseling support to other members of the family as needed. In addition, I have a second Master of Arts degree in Education, specializing in Counseling and Guidance. I became a School Counselor and currently maintain a school counseling credential. I am a compassionate, caring person by nature. I cared for my mother and brother until their deaths. They both lived with me and I cared for them, cleaned, cooked, took them to their appointments and outings, and just spent quality time with them until they passed. I feel that elderly people get overlooked or ignored a lot, and often don't get the respect and compassion they deserve. I now want to help other elderly people, in their golden years, to live the happiest, comfortable, and rewarding life as possible. I truly enjoy seeing their happy faces that I can bring them, and knowing they are living their lives, with assistance, to the happiest and fullest of their abilities. I am happy, content, and proud that I could help my mother and brother live their lives to the fullest until they passed. I now have that desire to help other elderly people achieve the happiest and rewarding life as possible. I will get CPR certified and any other required or requested certificates or required skills necessary for a position in this field. I love all animals and will help care for and love them as well. I have been taking care of people since I was about 9 . I went to medical school as a medical assistant, worked with children but found that I really love working with the elderly been working. Since 1997 have two degrees in the medical field and own my own business. I am compassionate congruent trustworthy on time faithful and dedicated to the care that I provide for people.

I'm a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant and a phlebotomist. I enjoy working with people, helping them heal and simply enjoying the little things in life. I enjoy what I do and I take every chance I'm offered so that I may keep improving.

My 7 years of experience has taught me a great deal working with seniors. I have developed strong communication and problem solving skills over the years. I am fulfilled when my client is happy with my services. Over the years, I have worked in adult day programs, respite care, convalescent homes, and in-home support. I became a CNA because I wanted to be able to help people that cannot always care for themselves and it makes me feel good to be able to give them the best care that I can. I like being a CNA because I get to know the client and his or her specific needs and I enjoy communicating and learning about them. A personal achievement that I am proud of is finishing high school and getting my diploma. Walking across that stage in front of my family was one of the most blissful moments of my life. What better way to give back the love and support he has given me by helping him and my family. As I became older I decided to become an IHSS employee.
