I became a caregiver because this is what God has called me to do. I enjoy being a caregiver because I am passionate about caregiving. Patients and their families deserve reliable, quality driven care with compassion, dignity, and respect. I have been providing care since 1994 and have seen the significant changes in healthcare and I continuously update my skills and education. I am 45 year old, and became a CNA in 1994, and am currently employed at the VA Hospital in Loma linda Ca for 14 1/2 years.

I am looking to change the way care is provider to older adults. I have 14 years experience as a nurses aide and 10 years as a Recreational Therapist. I have extensive experience working with individuals who have memory loss. I am developing training modules to educate caregivers to engage clients in daily routines and researched based cognitive exercise to enhance memory abilities.

My focus is to improve the future of healthcare and the quality on hands on care. After many years in the automotive industry, I decided I was ready for a change. I have always had a great respect for the elderly and became interested in healthcare knowing that the future would be in great need of passionate workers in this field. In my studies, I grow extremely interested in long term care. I would like to use my knowledge and passion to improve the quality of care and assist those in need, assuring the best level of care, with dignity, in their final years.

I am experienced and capable of assisting with daily living needs (ADLs). I have great transferring experience. I am also experienced in all stages of Dementia and Alzheimer's. I am knowledgeable with blood sugar data, and G-tube feeding. I have a BA in psychology and a Masters degree in education specializing in Family and Community services. I also recently received my certification as a Behavioral Analyst. My goal in life is to help others, and I am a loving, caring, patient and understanding individual willing to fulfill your needs for your family member. I also have a CPR certification and my TB is up to date. I have a great driving record, full coverage insurance. Yes I have accomplished a lot of education , but I love my job. I am available Mon- Saturday. I prefer every other Saturday off. If the position is 24/7, I can work 4 days on with 3 days off. I'm capable of working all shifts, my requested pay rate is $20/25. I enjoy being a care giver due to the personal connections I am able to make with my patients. I find,it extremely rewarding. I have worked with detox patients and patience with a duel diagnosis of akzheimiers and dementia. To be with them day in and day out and in some cases to see a possibility for a longer life with quality. Is exciting. It does have its challenges but I feel that I learn more each minute of each day..Detox patients. Who has been in pain for so long and been held captive to the medication. Once removed the change is remarkable. It is one heck of a painful fight. These are some of the strongest patients I have had the pleasure to meet and work with. Both of these are near and dear to me. I just wish that at times when I was ill or my family members were ill. Someone cared the way I do. As if they were my family, son, sister, friend,mom,or daughter.

I am currently a high school teacher. I provide care to a family in Norfolk, VA as well. I am a mother, wife and compassionate person.

I consider myself to be a passionate person. Although my career path has not been in the health industry, I have been apart of it for quite awhile. My father in 1994 had a stroke and it caused him to be paralyzed. I was the first one to volunteer to sit with the nurse and take on the responsibility of providing aide for him in all aspects of his life. I am the person no matter what situation I am in will give what I have to help someone else. I am fast learner, dependable, and responsible. I love to love and help others its just who I am; from babies to adults it doesn't matter all there has to be is a need. My best personal achievement was relocating my family to a new state, and graduating college while working full time. It took almost 15 years being a single mother of six to accomplish, but I did it with hard work and dedication. To show my children that no matter what obstacles they face if they work hard and don't give up anything is possible. Everyone deserves love and proper care and if given the opportunity I am sure I can give the attention and support that is needed.

I have always been someone who wants to help others. If I can do something for someone and in the end, they are happy then I did a good thing. I have had several clients I've cared for through friends and family who needed someone. I started by taking care of my grandparents. It felt really good knowing they needed me and I was a Le to be there for them. It was very rewarding to me. When I was a little girl, my mom would take me and my brothers to visit my great-grandmother in a convalescent home. It always made me sad to see all these grandparents in these rooms who had no one to come and visit them. So I think that's when I decided one day I would like to go and visit them, even if it's just for five minutes just maybe brighten their day. Doing that, made me feel good that I could make someone else happy.

I'm naturally compassionate and patient, which helps me build trust and provide comfort to those I care for. I'm also detail-oriented and dependable--traits that ensure medications are given on time, routines are followed, and safety is prioritized. My ability to stay calm under pressure helps me handle emergencies or difficult moments with a clear head and steady hands. What drew me to caregiving was a deep desire to make a positive impact in someone's daily life. I've always believed that dignity and respect should never be lost, especially when someone is vulnerable or dependent on others. Caregiving gives me the opportunity to be that steady presence and make someone's day better in real, tangible ways. I enjoy forming meaningful connections with the people I care for. Whether it's sharing a laugh, hearing a life story, or just being there in quiet moments--those personal bonds are deeply rewarding. Knowing that I can bring comfort, dignity, and companionship into someone's life is what keeps me motivated. One achievement I'm especially proud of is taking care of my mom with dementia.

Hello my name Katyia and I have been working in healthcare for 16 years. I started in nursing homes then assistant living and now I love home healthcare. I enjoy interacting with other individuals. Helping those who need but do not think they need. I tell my clients that I am their extra eyes, hands and feet to help them to continue being independently as they can in the comfort of their homes.

I have been a live-in caregiver for 20 years. There is probably no condition I cannot care for or have not had experience with. Different examples would be Parkinson's disease, Renal Failure and Dialysis, Diabetes. Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer's or Dementia, Cancer, Hospice, and many more. I have excellent references and will work with the client to plan the best care for you or your loved one's needs. My car is insured, and I have a clean DL. Also non drinker and non smoker. My pastor will vouch for my character. I only do live-ins at this time and will work with the client on how they want to pay me.

By showing both empathy and compassion and having lots of patience is what makes me different from the rest.

Caregiving has been something I have been doing since I was a young girl so I have the skills. I also am on call as a caregiver with Home Instead Senior Care. What I like about being a caregiver is the flexibility and still being able to do what I enjoy. I started my own organic business five years ago. No matter how many things I involve myself in it still seems as if I am always trying to find something to do.
