I became a caregiver because my daughters grandmother was paralyzed from her breast down while I was living with her she had a CNA that would come everyday and bed bath her fix her breakfast and just whatever was needed and that just motivated me to go to school to get my CNA and now I've been a CNA for 18 years I love the one on one interaction that home care gives I love knowing that my patients/ clients are satisfied with my work I love what I do I just keep in mind that I would want my grandmother and parents treated properly when it comes time for them I know how it is to work with caregivers that are in it for a check you have to have compassion in this line of work I have that compassion

Currently, I am a caregiver at an assisted living community. I've been working there for over two years now. I've also had a life-long goal of becoming a registered nurse. All I've ever wanted to do in life was care for other people, old or young. Although being a caregiver helps me fulfill most of that goal, my goal won't be fully met until I actually receive my nursing license. I like when the person I am taking care of, feel confident with me caring for him/her. I started taking care of my mom after she had a stroke in the year 2000, from then on I have taken care of an uncle and a husband that has past on. I enjoy seeing the smile on the person's face when they have received the best of care. Being able to lay some of my me-time aside and give time for someone else.
