My background is primarily in equine therapy, but I have had half of my career working as a private caregiver. I have been a stay at home mother to my beautiful twins for the last five years, but I am looking for local part-time work. My passion is caring for others. I have a bachelors of science in rehabilitation studies from UNT. Right now I am just wanting to stay close to home; as my children are still young and just beginning school years. I personally took care of my mother and grandmother who both went through severe surgery recovery and needed home care afterwards. Taking care of them felt so natural and I found that helping them gave me such heart filled satisfaction. Being a caregiver is my passion. I love meeting new people and caring for those in my community who need help. Through this experience I have learned so much about people and they have taught me so much. I love helping people through the skills I have acquired and seeing people with a smile on their face warms my heart. Graduating with honors (cum laude) from UNT with a bachelor degree in Biochemistry is my up most achievement that I worked so hard to obtain. I am a hard worker with a caring and compassionate nature. On the weekend I volunteer with Cancer Care Services and my church. I am CNA certified and CPR trained. My hobbies include swimming, knitting, cooking, and baking. I enjoy making connections with clients and growing strong friendships.

I am a very observant and attentive person. When it comes to detail I try to do my best. I am very open and kind, I like to make sure my patients are comfortable and if needed entertained. I don't mind sitting next to my patients and reading a book or two to them. Wanting patient-care experience as a pre-need student is what attracted me to caregiving. It is more one on one than working in a hospital where I am assigned 10-15 patients a night. I am able to give more specific care and also become more familiar with my care-taker and their needs. When I see a smile on their face when they are rested and well taken care of gives me joy. One accomplishment that I have achieved is working in a behavioral health hospital, which is the field I want to work in although not the exact setting I would prefer, but all in the same I am proud of myself that I was able to gain that year of experience.

I am an outgoing, friendly, and reliable caregiver. I spend most of my days as a qmhp and community support trainer. Most of my consumers are older and have specific needs that I am trained to meet. All of my individuals are like family and I treat them as so. I give them the care that I would expect someone to give my family members. I will always go above and beyond to ensure that they are comfortable and content. I am CPR certified, person centered care certified, certified in med administration, and qualified to work with persons with mental health and intellectual disabilities.

What makes me a great caregiver? It is definitely my ability to adapt to any situation that I come across. I am an extremely patient individual and have a very relaxed personality! Wanting to help people is a part of who I am and has been since a young age. From volunteering at North Texas Food Bank as a middle school student in National Junior Honor Society, to eventually leading volunteers at North Texas Surgical Center as the president of National Honor Society in my senior year of high school, I lived to serve. The ever evolving field of healthcare has never ceased to amaze me. I can still recall my first memory of shadowing in a hospital: terrified, yet enthralled by the fact that so many precious lives were being micromanaged all at once by the dedicated staff. I saw myself in their shoes, saving lives; not for recognition, but to better humanity. This passion drove me through my high school years, inspiring my choice to enroll in a Collegiate Academy and earn my Associate of Science by the age of 18. As I charged through my education, I participated in health-related competitions through HOSA, completed an Emergency Medical Technician certification course, and volunteered over 150+ hours at North Central Surgical Center earning a Volunteer Scholarship and the Barbara James Service Award. My service and leadership earned me a full-ride to the University of North Texas from the Terry Foundation This year: I have had the privileged to serve as the 2021-2022 Scholar Liaison for the UNT Terry foundation and the Career and Personal Fall 2021 Development Director for Chi Omega Fraternity. I am now pursuing my Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with minors in Chemistry and Medical Anthropology in hopes of attending medical school and fulfilling my lifelong dream of becoming a physician one day. To achieve my goals, I plan to utilize my knowledge of BLS, patient care, laboratory procedures, and navigating Microsoft Office to first earn a position as a research assistant. I will gladly take every opportunity offered to me to help heal our world.

I thoroughly enjoy working with seniors and making special connections. I was a program director at a retirement community, a technical services librarian in charge of the senior volunteers and teaching the technical classes, and most recently, an elder companion. Your family member will be cared for the same way I would expect my grandparents to be cared for.

I am an incredibly dependable and experienced worker. I've been employed since the age of 16, elevating in every job position I've been in. Currently maintain my own business as a certified Nanny within Care.com just to name a few. I'm resilient, hardworking, creative, problem solver, and always willing to learn. I'm technologically confident and believe to navigate new systems of trained to do so. When my grandmother was still with me she was diagnosed with ALS. I was a young man in college and was able to be there to help take care of her. I would prepare her meals, make sure she took her medication on time. I would clean her house and intend to her every need. Even if it was just to keep her company so she didn't feel alone. Sometimes it is difficult for an elderly Person to ask for help when they have been able to independently take care of themselves their whole life. I can see how this can be frustrating for them. I'm happy to help. I have the patience of Job from the bible. They will be more than pleased with my service to aid them!

Hello, My name is Autumn Edwards I myself have a 93 year old great grand mother and a 70 year old grandmother who needs assistance with walking, medication, transportation etc.. I had a great grand father with Alzheimers who I loved dearly. Even though most of my work has been with a younger generation with multiple disabilities from personal experience I know what your loved ones need and am able to apply my passion for care taking. I also have a 6 month old son who has 2 congenital heart defects and even though this does not inhibit his physical or mental abilities as of now I know if I hired him a care giver I would want someone attentive, loving, and passionate.

Taking care of others gives me a purpose. I love the elderly and disabled and have experience in taking care of my parents in their later years. I also provided the complete care of my husband, who suffered with an inoperable brain tumor until his passing.

Assisted with the care of my elderly grandmother and mother until they passed. I enjoy spending time with older people and listening to their stories.

I became a care giver because I wanted to become a nurse. I could not become a nurse because of the math and science part of the nursing program. I love to take care of people,young and old. I was an activity director at local nursing homes for years and I loved to plan the daily activities for the residents. I lived with my grandmother for a year and took care of her. The one thing I like about being a care giver is being a companion for the client. Some people need an extra person just to have , so they can talk or run errands with. All my clients liked me because we talked or we went places. I have been married for seven years and my husband works for white wave foods. I have a new puppy named Sadie and a cat named Holly.

I am a compassionate and patient servant !! I consider serving individuals who have autism, IDD and developmental disabilities a ministry. I love watching the clients that I work with achieve and master their goals. In addition, I love seeing a decrease in targeted (negative) behaviors. I have recently obtained my RBT Certification and I am excited about working on my BCBA credential!!
