I am a great caregiver very patient

I have been a CNA since I was 16, recently I have moved on to completing school for Medical Technician (CCMT). I love being a caregiver because I love being the voice people need and being able to help people grow, recovery, and live a comfortable life despite any ailments and disabilities. I am patient, caring, organized, and dependable. I always do my best to put the person(s) needs above all eles in situations. I am proud of the personal growth and experience I have gained working so closely with a broad range of patients.

Experienced, compassionate, caring and detail oriented caregiver with over 30 years in the medical field. Caring for seniors is where my heart is. I left my career as a hearing specialist to care for my parents before they passed. I have specialized and extensive care with Alzheimer's/Dementia , Parkinson's, Cancer, and diabetic patients. My duties included cognitive and physical stimulation, mobility assistance, meal preparation, medicine management, companionship, assist with feeding, dressing, showering and toileting, running errands, transportation to appointments, all housework, laundry, and other nursing duties. I enjoy taking my clients on day trips to museums, picnic in the park, long walks, going to church or out to eat, or staying in watching tv or doing crafts and puzzles. I treat every client like family, as it's a privilege to care for your loved one. I'm very comfortable with all pets. CPR/First Aide trained, experienced with Hoyer Lift and G-Tube feeding. what makes me a great caregiver is that I have alot of empathy and compasion for my patients. What attracted me to be a caregiver is that theres alot of patients that need help and I like to be there for them to help them in what ever needs they have. I have a heart for the elderly and anyone in need of help. For three years I helped take care of my step dad who had dementia. Currently I'm a caregiver for my 93 year old uncle. I assist him with with doctor appointments and companionship. Also help a lady with dementia who's at fall risk. She will be moving out of state at the end of March. Looking forward to helping a family and give them a piece of mind that their loved one is being cared for when they need help.

As the mother of two teenagers with extra needs and the wife of a disabled veteran, caregiving is part of my everyday life. I held my Home Health Aid certificate at one point in a nursing home but eventually changed to private care due to the lack of compassion and communication that large facilities provide. I eventually decided to return to college and recently graduated with my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education: Child & Family Services. During my time at SUNY Cobleskill, I also had the opportunity to be the team lead for the Generations Together Respite program. The program was geared towards individuals with dementia and their families working with preschool children in a coordination of care.

I have been providing care to patients for over 20 years. During this time, I have assisted patients with multiple disabilities including but not limited to: mobility limitations, cognitive disabilities, Alzheimer's, Dementia and Parkinson's. I am patient, motivated, trustworthy, honest, hardworking, discreet and loyal to my patients. I have always known that I wanted to live my life in a meaningful way. This is what brought me to caregiving, it is a job in where I get to help others live out their lives with respect and dignity. I enjoy my patients stories, their joys, my patients company, feeling helpful and the memories that I get to carry with me. Personal achievements that I am proud of is earning my patients love and making friendships with them. Professionally, I am proud of all the lives I have helped and at times changed in one way or another. That is why I am a true believer that with the right care and love patients can live out their lives in a more meaningful and stressfree environment that caters to not only their social, physical and emotional needs but to their entire lives.
