I am an empathetic caregiver who enjoys helping others. I wanted to become a caregiver because I always been interested in the healthcare field. I gravitated towards being someone who can provide her skills to those who are in need. I enjoy knowing that I am helping people live more independent lives through compassion and care. I am proud to state I have a completed college degree in speech pathology learning about disorders within all populations including geriatric. I am very fond of health conditions.

Empathy. The ability to put yourself in someone elses shoes. I learned this at an early age. Ive always been a giver. Hence, why im in the medical field. I love getting to know my residents and taking the time out to listen to them. Simply listen. Getting my CNA is the best thing ive ever done and i cant wait to further my education.

I've been a caregiver for a few years now I believe what makes me love my job that much more because I help take care of my Great Grandmother for a number of years. I gained lots of understanding, compassion, and empathy. What I enjoyed most was the long talks we had to the wisdom she instilled in me. I love to take care of someone elder grandparents like I would want someone to take care of my grandmother with lots of patience and understanding.

Hello. I am the oldest child of 4, I was born into a caregiver role. I originally thought I wanted to be a nurse, however while in nursing school I realized that I would never be able to give my patients the time and attention I felt they deserved. I enjoy helping people. The satisfaction of knowing someone actually cares about their well being and listens to what they have to say means a lot to me. My own personal success story happened while matched with a child who after about a year had a total personality change, became affectionate towards others, no longer was,violent, and began to enjoy activities and the company of others.

I would be their feet, their hands, their eyes and be an insight toward achieving what's best for them as far as their care is concerned.so far in-terms of personal achievement and caregiving, currently I had a client with dementia who after every 20 minutes forgets, her long term memory is all hazy( her husband who is with with her has Alzheimer's and helps her with her memory). So after doing an assessment I found out that she loves Karaoke. I got her daughter to give me a list of of her favorite songs. To my surprise for the first time ever she sang the lyrics without looking at the lyrics on the-phone and she sand beautifully. She even remembered all events relating to the song. Caregiving has changed me in so many ways. "Empathy", I see things with different eyes, "Compassion", I feel differently. I've always been a person who goes out of her way to help others; but, since my sons accident I go even further.... we very seldom get help. I think that pushes my desire to assist others even more.
