I became a caregiver because I love helping people. I beleive that is what I am meet to do. I started caring for my father as a child and have be doing it ever since. I have worked with child with developmental disablities as well as a varity of different care needs in hospitals, group homes and in personal homes. Ive been working as a CNA since I was 18yrs old with a total of 10 years experience. I got into nursing through my mother, who would talk about her experiences as a nurse. Ive loved it ever since. Most of my experience is working with skilled and non-skilled patients in nursing homes and the last 3 years doing in home care and a little bit of hospital experience through one of my previous registry companies. I served in the US Navy for 2 years and recieved a honorable discharge for an injury. After that, I worked security for banner and attended collage for a while only to miss nursing, so i returned to it. I got into home care because it allows me to focus on one individual, rather than 16, allowing me to actually get to know the person. Professionally I tend to be a straight forward kind of person who loves his job and working with others that are hard workers and caring. I dont like to beat around the bush or sugar coat things to much. I try to "keep it real" (i hate using that phrase) and honest with my patients. I also try to make the best of any situation, whether thats for myself or for my patients. Mental health is just as important as ones physical health and thats always something i try to pass onto my patients.

I became a caregiver for my grandpa when he was sick. I like working and interacting with the residents and making them apart of my family. I'm proud that one of he residents I've had in the past remembered me even though they had advanced stages of dementia. Even though I am a hardworking person I like to have fun and your everything life has to offer.
