I am a trustworthy and compassionate certified nurses assistant looking for work as a caregiver. I am a nurturer by nature, and enjoy being able to care for people that need my help. I have ample experience caring for elderly patients with dementia and stroke, as well as in a nursing home, and have cared for a wide variety of needs. I work at my best when I feel like I am part of a team or family. And I like to ingagage In patient's daily life needs above and beyond.

I was 15 years old and just started my freshman year of high school when I was placed in a class called Intergenerational Studies. For 2 hours each day I was taken to the nursing home called Golden Years there in Elgin, Tx. I started off just getting residents from their rooms to come and do activities with me. But it wasn't long and I was working side by side with CNAs, RNs, and at one point the DON had me shadow her for 2 weeks. I just got really interested and a few years after graduation and having my son, I pursued a CNA certification and was assigned the hospice hall and the "lockdown unit" which was occupied by the more violent patients and those with conditions such as Alzheimer's and/or parkinson's, as well as those with behavioral health conditions. I honestly just fell in love with everything about caring for the elderly. Even the hard and very emotional side of the care I provide is something I wouldn't want to stop doing. I would love to get my CNA back but just haven't attempted to do so since my husband passed in 2011. Since my high school days I have worked with all ages of people, from a 2 year old little princess to a 98 year old gentleman I referred to as Fred Astaire due to them looking like twins. He loved it and would smile so big when I walked in every day; and every day he would say "Good morning Ms. Judy (Garland). You feel like dancing the day away?" It's things like that for which I love my work. Please feel free to ask anything, I would love to tell everything now but there is just so much I've been blessed to have experienced with so many different people I'd never be done.

I am a certified medical assistant, EKG technician, and phlebotomist. I am enthusiastic, honest, passionate , punctual caregiver. I am in the process of going back to school to finish my nursing classes. After I graduate and become a registered nurse, I am going to grow with a career that sees me as an opportunity to give compassion to the world. I started caregiving for a family friend's father and i enjoyed doing that for someone. It meant a lot to me and to them. Its a great opportunity to help those in need when they don't have time to help their loved ones. I like seeing the family's smiles when they hear how much their loved one enjoyed there time.
