Hi! My name is Kaila and I'm currently a nursing student at UTSA! My first healthcare experience was being an intern at Baptist Hospital for, then I followed with The Brooks of Cibolo as a caregiver/ medication aid. My current job is at Bella Groves as a caregiver/ medication aid. I'm very positive and outgoing, I love making people smile! Being there to help someone maintain their dignity and help keep their life as it was before is why I became a caregiver. I am a trustworthy and dedicated certified nurses assistant looking for work as a caregiver. I am a nurturer by nature, and enjoy being able to care for people that need my help. I have ample experience caring for elderly patients with dementia and stroke, as well as in a nursing home, and have cared for a wide variety of needs. I work at my best when I feel like I am part of a team or family. And I like to ingagage In patient's daily life needs above and beyond.

I have been working privately on and off for a number of families starting at age 15. I have experience ranging from children with certain disabilities to sick adults. I had health problems that required some help when i was a young child. This is why i am happy and comfortable helping families in need.

I was 15 years old and just started my freshman year of high school when I was placed in a class called Intergenerational Studies. For 2 hours each day I was taken to the nursing home called Golden Years there in Elgin, Tx. I started off just getting residents from their rooms to come and do activities with me. But it wasn't long and I was working side by side with CNAs, RNs, and at one point the DON had me shadow her for 2 weeks. I just got really interested and a few years after graduation and having my son, I pursued a CNA certification and was assigned the hospice hall and the "lockdown unit" which was occupied by the more violent patients and those with conditions such as Alzheimer's and/or parkinson's, as well as those with behavioral health conditions. I honestly just fell in love with everything about caring for the elderly. Even the hard and very emotional side of the care I provide is something I wouldn't want to stop doing. I would love to get my CNA back but just haven't attempted to do so since my husband passed in 2011. Since my high school days I have worked with all ages of people, from a 2 year old little princess to a 98 year old gentleman I referred to as Fred Astaire due to them looking like twins. He loved it and would smile so big when I walked in every day; and every day he would say "Good morning Ms. Judy (Garland). You feel like dancing the day away?" It's things like that for which I love my work. Please feel free to ask anything, I would love to tell everything now but there is just so much I've been blessed to have experienced with so many different people I'd never be done.

I'm a very outgoing, energetic, athletic, fit person who is very compassionate and caring, someone who puts others before himself, a father of 5, 3 girls and 2 boys. I've been in the field over 10 years and have reliable references to support the fact. I enjoy being able to help others, with everyday tasks, getting back into the community, making home cooked meals, or just being there as someone to talk to. I've worked with seniors, developmentally disabled, dementia patients, and disabled veterans. I'm a well rounded individual with ambition, and experience in all aspects of the healthcare field. An added bonus is that I love to cook as well. My family and I moved from Denver to Florida just to experience life and it's been one of the best life choices I could have ever made. We've been here almost two years now, and look forward to connecting with families and making new friends.

I started over 10 years ago at a local nursing home here in Fredericksburg, TX. I fell in love with how close you get to the patients like learning about their interests, hobbies & about their families they loved so much. I cared for each & every patient as if they were my own family. I love the sincere talks & the laughs & the time I spend with each & every single patient I worked with. I also learned alot from my alzheimer's & dementia patients. It's a day to day adventure that I welcome gladly. I have experience in hospice care as well as home healthcare. No matter where I worked I learned something from each place & each wonderful patient I had the privilege to come in contact with. Now I hope to be of some help to you to bring my patient & outgoing care to you.

I have a very kind and caring heart, I believe it does take a certain type of person to be in the care giving industry, its never easy not being able to do a "normal" human task and you want to make sure you have a reliable and helpful person to help you achieve such tasks. I enjoy helping others it makes my heart grow bigger knowing that I am able to help in a way that makes them happy and know that their is a person that will care for them, its the cycle of life.

I am very patient, understanding and compassionate. I have well over 25 years of experience in providing care to a wide range of patients/clients. Primarily I've worked with Alzheimer's/dementia patients, I enjoy being able to help and provide care for those who are no longer able to fully care for themselves.

I'm a caring, compassionate person that sees my job not just as a job but a commitment with great responsibility. Helping to of cared for my own grandmother, who passed three yrs ago at the age of 105, with dementia and Alzheimer's and somewhat my mother now , has given me a greater compassion and consideration for those I care for and their families because I know from personal experience that it can get overwhelming for family members who care, love their elderly and want to keep them at home close to people who truly want the best care for them. I am a mother of six children therefore I not only have the skills medically to be a caregiver but I by nature, personal experience am a nurturer and caregiver. I have a four year degree in theology and am a Christian woman that finds this field very rewarding mentally, emotionally and spiritually although physically it can be tiring. Knowing and going home after a days work that I have made a difference in someone's life is not only satisfying but rewarding for a person like me. I care for elderly, children, people with the same compassion, consideration and affection as I do and would want someone else if need to ,to care for my own family member. Some work for a paycheck others, we have a calling for this type of work, Iv obtained my certificate for of taking the course and updating my knowledge on dementia disorder and caring for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's.
