I became a Caregiver because I love providing home caregiving services to those that would need a extra-hand at times. The smile on their faces lets me know I'm apart of something great, something as special as helping others. I enjoy the opportunity to impact clients make a difference for them. I appreciate the chance to get to know clients and their families and become an integral part of their lives. My biggest achievement that I am very proud of, is that I graduated with highest academic honors for Certified Medical Assistant from Everest College. I am reliale, with an great-postive demeanor, a hard workers, team-players and much more.

I am a loving outgoing person. I LOVE being a cargiver, I feel in my heart this is what I am suppose to be doing in life. I treat each one of my clients like they were my parents or grandparents . I'm very open minded, always up to trying new things in life. Easy going, can adjust to different things without a problem. I am CPR/First Aid Certified & have been a caregiver for 5 1/2 years.

1. I became a caregiver because I love taking care of the elderly. I have been doing this for about 27 + years. I love making a difference in someone's people's lives. It is very rewarding. In most cases you are their eyes, legs, hands and so forth. Most times you are their family. I feel really good at the end of the day. 2. I like that I was able to do what my patients weren't able to do for themselves. I liked making their lives a little easier. I really liked giving of myself. 3. I worked as a CNA/Rehab Tech. I was promoted to supervisor over the Restorative Aides. I worked closely with the Therapist in assisting my patients with exercising, gait, transfers, splinting, weight, and so much more. We had a patient that hadn't walked in over a couple of years or so. She was in my exercise program. I included music with the exercises. They like this. My patients began to improve tremendously. They were doing things that the staff and even their family members hadn't seen. This particular patient began to want to walk. She began to want to go to the bathroom, pick out her clothes, and then she wanted to go home. She made a tremendous improvement. They actually had to call her doctor to get reevaluated and discontinue the restraints. She got so well that she didn't need any assistance so far as walking, dressing, feeding and going to the restroom. She still had her dignity. It was amazing. At first the aides were upset with me. hello my name is Lakynia Wingard, i am and have been certified for the past 15 years, I started out working in nursing facilities, but have been doing home care for the past 10 years, I must admit I love home care better then working in a facility because its more personal care and it allows you to get to know a person better and give more attention to one client then having like 20 people to attend to. my main goal is to assist those who need assistance and help those who cant help themselves, I believe the biggest reward for a CNA, is knowing that you are helping to ensure the health and well being of a human being is being meet.

I became a caregiver because I enjoy the company of older people. They provide wisdom and have much to give for a person who shows them empathy. I like being a caregiver because it gives me an opportunity to give back. My personal achievement in the realm of caregiving is that the clients I care for now ask specifically for me when it comes time for their care. I am currently attending school for surgical technology, but it is only two mornings a week, giving me plenty of time to attend to a client with care and understanding. I became a caregiver 9 years ago because my family didn't have anyone to care for my grandmother and we couldn't afford the help . And ever since them I have been a caregiver , I love to help those that don't have the ability to care for there self anymore . My name is Nenisi(Nancy) originated from the friendly Island of Tonga at the age of 9, lived in Redwood City, CA for almost 32 years now married with 4 beautiful kids ages 13-22. I first became a caregiver in 1997 thru a mutual friend, I started working for a Conservator name Martha Legallet who placed me in clients home. I cared for a couple in Menlo Park for almost 5years as a live-in caregiver and monitoring there well being, including bathing, meal preparations, medications and just helping with there everyday routine. From there I worked for until 2007 doing the same line of work and decided to go back to school and took a class in medical administration, end up with a diploma in medical administration and left the caregiving field started a career with Suremed Inc a medical billing company until 2011 in which I had to stay home and care for my parents who at the time were not doing too well health wise. Mom passed late 2011 and continued caring for my dad until today! I do have some help in caring for dad and hope to get back to doing what I love most which is caring for elderly. I started caring for my family members as a teenager, and I felt a sense of joy in helping my love ones achieving their daily living routines. For example, I assisted my blind aunt at the age of sixteen. I would help her with grooming, shopping, finances, and social activities. I was her eyes that she needed to enjoy her life. Nowadays, I have a sense of personal achievement when my clients' family members feel secure knowing that their love-ones are clean, safe and happy when they are in my care. I go over and beyond to make sure my clients feel love and they have a provider who really cares for them. I believe that people should be treated with respect and care for them while allowing them to retain their dignity and self respect. I don't know if it is a personal achievement or not but when I over hear my residents telling each other and their families how much they love me because I treat them well and always have time for them and if I need to find an answer for them I always do.
