My name is Dorinda and i have been a caregiver for at least 4 years. I love working with the elderly because i can communicate with them better and were able to understand one another. They will always be number one to me because its important that you show them how much you love them and care for them make sure everything is always ok and i'm a very good listener. I became a care giver because I took care of my grandma for 7 years she was 90 when sh passed 2 years ago she was bed ridden and I would put herin her in wheelchair with a hoierlift. I have a disability granddaughter that i've been taking care of for 17 years,caregiving for 10 years, my father is 80 so caring for seniors is what i do best,worked in assistant living and memorycare facility seeing the caring smiles on there faces when I care for them makes me proud of doing my job for the families that I care for. First of all I am naturally a caring giving person , it is in me. I became a caregiver because of my father and his struggle with cancer, watching a person whom you love die,is a very hard thing to do but it also gives a awareness that some just dont understand. I really like helping others who are in need, because I do know how it feels to be in need. and would want some one to have care and patience with me or any family member that I may have who needs care. I just love working with people and making sure others are safe and being treated right.
