My name is Ariana and I have been a caregiver for 6 years. The thing I love most about being a caregiver is that I love to help others emotionally and physically. I always aim to make someone smile and make the best of their day. I recently decided to persue my CNA and have obtained my license and my BLS.I am Bilingual (Fluent in Spanish) . I grew up watching and helping my mom take care of my step dad. He had suffered a traumatic brain injury at work. When I was too young to understand what Alzheimer's was, my grandma struggled with it and eventually passed. When I got older I wanted to understand what these disabilities were that had such an impact on my life. I took courses and got certified as a CNA/HHA, but let both certificates go because I got a job with sunrise senior living of Sacramento and they didn't require I had them. I've been with them as a reminiscence (memory care) care manager for 6 years. In that time I've completed a medication care manager training and filled in passing meds whenever necessary. I have also filled in as lead care manager at times. Sunrises' mission statement is "To champion the quality of life for all seniors." They back it up by setting high standards for myself and my fellow frontline team members. They set us up for success by providing educational trainings on dementia, safe lifting, hygiene, activities, behavioral expressions, basic human needs, skin integrity, dining, and housekeeping. Unfortunately I've been feeling lately like it's time to take a chance and make a change. I'm sure with my skills knowledge and experience I can now provide one on one care to residents in the comfort of their own home. In doing this I hope to build a better relationship with and earn more trust from my resident and their family. I want to provide the best quality care possible.

A little about myself, I have over 2 years experience working with older adults, specifically in Dementia and End of Life care. I am caring and passionate about what I do and I love to help in any way I can.

I am a great caregiver because I always give 100% and do the best job I can, with know exceptions or excuses. I also try to bring a sense of humor to my work. If I can add a smile or laugh to a client’s day, that means a lot to me. It is important to laugh every once in a while. I enjoy the opportunity to make a clients’ life more out going and more happier, and to make a difference to them. I became a caregiver because I enjoy helping make the most of their life, I encourage people to do as much for themselves as they can to ensure they feel like the have a say in their care. I enjoy helping people. I have done one to one care with Hospice patients it I'd very rewarding. I love helping people accomplish little milestones for themselves.

I became a caregiver for my mother for almost 3 years ,prior to her death. She was bedridden for the last year. I dealt with all her needs & the Hospice people that attended her. Since then I have cared for 2 different elderly women. One recovering from hip replacement ,that initially needed 24/7 care & companion to the other that was almost blind. I am very good at making them laugh & focus on the humorous side of aging. Something I think is missing from most elderly people's lives. I enjoy listening to their stories- their experiences. I consider myself easy to be with & adjustable to many situations.

I have been a caregiver over forty years. It brings me a great feeling to give care to families. I have been caring for my own mother the past 18 years and know the comfort i can bring into homes to provide comfort and safety to families and their loved ones.

Hi ! If your looking for a caregiver who will care about your family member as much as you do, Im her ! I'm very passionate about older people & have a great respect for them. I enjoy their company & don't mind spending time with them, sometimes just letting them talk, listening to them, and conversing with them is also very therapeutic. Everyone wants to be heard and sometimes our elderly don't always get as much attention as they should. I have a great sense of humor, I'm easy going but can be firm if I need to be (in regards to taking meds or exercises, etc) . I understand that at times everyone has a bad day, needs to vent or is just cranky, Im very patient and will try to lighten the situation and lighten it up with a joke or just offering kind words or helpful advice. Im extremely clean and organized and pay close attention to details : I'm good at cleaning, laundry and a decent cook, not a grand chef but I can prepare a meal. Separating meds into weekly pill boxes, schedules & making appointments are no problem. Im also a Christian so if your family member is too, I don't mind connecting with them on that level. Im very conscious person when it comes to dealing with the feelings of the elderly, there are times with dementia when they can be embarrassed or feel humiliated for forgetting something, there are also other situations when a patient may have an issue with incontinence and have a bad accident. These times can be very embarrassing and humiliating, Im good at making a bad situation better. I was in the same or similar situation with my mother & I know how very stressful and difficult it can be finding good care for someone you love, all you can do is try to find that right person, hope for the best & hope it all works out . I hope you will put your trust and faith in me, Im honest, always do the right thing, caring, loving and will treat your family member like they are one of my own. Julie ~
