I became a Caregiver/CNA because I love helping people. I like being able to support others, make them laugh and enjoy life, give them a sense of caring and love. I like assisting others in being more self sufficient and becoming a better person. My most proud personal achievement is completing and receiving my degree in Nursing as well as becoming a proud mother ans wife. Something you should know about me is that I love life. I am a very compassionate, caring, happy, honest person that will go the extra mile for anyone that needs it. I was taught at a young age to do what is right no matter the reward because that in itself is the true reward. I love what I do and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

I am a college student majoring in psychology, I absolutely love psychology! Psychology is my passion. I believe I have a caring heart for the elderly, since I have worked with senior citizens for a few years now and I really enjoy making their lives better and through my experience in the seniors field I have learned a lot about seniors. I know that seniors need to feel appreciated and respected, with understanding. Seniors go through various stages while they age, and it is important to be sensitive to their changes.

I enjoy working with people and being able to provide a person the option to stay in their home rather then going to a facility. I am attending nursing school at Sacramento city college. Hello!! My name is Janice Nelson, I'm 28 years old and I started out my working career in a Nursing and Rehab for the elderly when I was just 18. This got me interested in gerontology and helping take care of the generations before me. I have a very kind and caring heart, and really only seek to help people and make personal connections. I currently work for an assisted living facility; and while I do enjoy the work, my hours are constantly changing and this is hard for me, given that I'm a single parent. I work very hard for the residents and I'm the lead care giver 3-4 days out of the week. I am strong and can assist lifting people as much as 250lbs. Over the years, I have met many wonderful clients and developed an extensive skill-set providing all levels of care, bathing, dressing, meals, medication reminders/monitoring, shopping and transportation. I am also skilled in acute bedside care, including palliative / hospice care. I have gained additional training working in several hospitals in the Austin area, but ultimately returned to my passion, which is providing outstanding care in the a person's own home, thereby relieving the stress families feel when looking for competent care of their loved ones. I truly believe that care provided in the home can note only promote a much better quality of but can actually extend their life, compared to care provided in an institutionalized setting. I remain strongly committed to that mission, and believe I can be a great asset to your family.

I have been a caregiver for over fifteen years. I have been trained and certified. I have been finger printed and passed an extensive background check completed by the Department of Justice. In doing this I am registered with the California Home Care Service Bureau. Many seniors learn they no longer can provide their own care. They feel like they have lost their independence. When they meet me they quickly learn they have gained a new friend. They did not loose their independence they have a new normal. Each day filled with activities and companionship. Spending that time with her has forever changed me and inspired me to care for other aging adults when the opportunity arises. As my mom's full-time caregiver I prepped her meals, assisted with toileting, transferred her, fed her(as she declined), laughed and talked with her, watched her favorite television shows with her, dispensed medication, groomed and bathed her.
