I have have been a certified nursing assistant for eight years now and and I'm experienced in both skilled and memory support. The best part of my job is the difference I make in people's lives. I show care and compassion in my work because I believe my work represents who I am as a person. I choose this career because I enjoy helping people and most importantly being part of their recovery process.

I am definitely a people person. I have over ten years experience in the healthcare field. I don't treat my patients like patients, I treat them like people. I have experience with many different types of patients including Alzheimer's, dementia, ventilator, full care, and assisted living.

I am a single mother, who have two children both of them are girls. I attend Strayer university in Owings Mills. I am going to school to pursuit a career in criminal justice. I've been working at the nursing assistant for 6 years. I enjoy doing what I do. I became a nursing assistant because I have big heart and I love caring for people who are in need of some assistance. When I was 8 years old my great grandmother was always back and forth in the hospitals and nursing homes. I always went there after school to eat my dinner with her, give her a bath bed I left any comb her hair.She was like my mother instead of my great grand. I loved her dearly.

I became a caregiver because of the innate motherly instinct that gives me such gratification just knowing that I have helped someone that is not able to help themselves. I have cared for children as well as adults and I learned that I prefer adult care. They are just a wealth of knowledge and in most cases they do appreciate someone taking care of them and spending time with them. I met a gentlemen one day and at the time he was wearing a diaper. After working with him for about three months we started going to bathroom and taking walks in the wheelchair. I felt a great sense of gratitude for seeing such improvement. His family eventually sent him to a nursing home where he did not last long. I am a very compassionate person and believe that everyone should be treated with respect. I am also a student attempting to achieve my bachelors degree in Business Administration with a minor in health service management.

I enjoy helping people it makes me feel like I have some purpose on this earth, It is wonderful to meet people and get to know them. It is a rewarding profession to me! Smiles are wonderful and necessary in this arena.

Well, I became a caregiver after I was diagnosed with canicer. After my hospital stay and recovery, I thought about the care I receI've and offer to do the same for those who could not afford to do it for themselves. I even started taking college courses just to become a nurse. What I like about being a caregiver is that I realized that I always bring hope into somebody's life , as well as put a smile on their face. I am a great care giver because I am patient minded, caring, loving and a positive thinker. I became a caregiver because I love working with people.
