I Have been doing this for over 15years. For my grandfather and, which he had Demteria. Not once looking at my self as a caregiver for my grandfather. I just did it. ABOUT 5yrs ago I was laid off from my 9 to 5, AND my mom who was already providing service as a caregiver pulled me in to it with someone she work for . While working with these great elder people. I noticed how they appreciated what I did for them and could relate to what they we're going thru most times. I found my self loving this job day in and day out, appreciate the wisdom that some of them offered and in return to myself it humbled me more everyday day and for that am greatful. My greatest ahcviment that am proud of is I do what I can do for the elder vets that served this country and them acknowledge me for what I had done for them just by being a caregiver that cares Means a lot

I enjoy providing caring services for others. I enjoy spending time with people, providing activities and companionship, including listening to their stories/experiences/history. Becoming a caregiver was started with the need for my father to receive 24/7 care and I became his guardian, proving his health, nutritional, hygiene, daily activities, and financial needs until he passed 4 years later from CAD and end stage Alzheimer's/Dementia. I'm 30 years old. I'm a mother of two. I have an 8 year old son and a 2 year old daughter. I'm from West Chester Ohio, where I currently live. I've been a caregiver for almost 12 years now. I come from a family of nurses and caregivers which is how I became one. I do want to further my education some day and go back to school to be a dental hygienist.
