Hello all! My name is Jessica Graves. I currently reside in Jackson Tn. I became a caregiver because of the passion and love I have for helping others. My belief has been that people with disabilities want to feel loved and independent as possible within their daily lives. I as a caregiver strive to help them conquer all goals.

I am a 56 year old trained social worker. I took care of my father for 6 years. I also took care of Mary for 3 years until she passed in May. I am patient, honest, hard working, caring and show empathy. I and my trained therapy dog visit nursing homes monthly for "happy" visits with the residents. We also visit domestic violence shelters for I am an advocate against abuse of any kind.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I take pride in the care that I give each person and try to make sure that they get the best personal care & attention.

Caregiver traits were instilled in me as a child due to the time spent taking care of my grandmother. She was my best friend. We traveled together, shopped, and spent our days together. I went into the medical field after graduating high school and it has been my passion until now. I have worked in nursing home, done home health, laughed and cried with hospice patients, and even own a business. I have a passion for serving the elderly and disabled community and give this passion back as a gift to the almighty who gifted it to me.

I feel that being empathetic and having extra patience make me a good caregiver. I have always found myself drawn to being more of a caregiver for both children and the elderly community. I used to babysit for friends and family as my children were younger and also help care for my elderly mother as well as our neighbor. I find pleasure in being able to help those less fortunate or those that have a bit of a challenge.

I have a passion for helping the elderly even if it's just to sit there and talk sometimes that's all they need I don't treat them as patients but I treat them as they were my own family. What attracted me to being a caregiver is when I first took care of my great grandmother seeing how happy she was to just have company hand help her do daily things that she could not do on her own.

I have over 11 years experience in home care ranging from home health aide to nurses aid to companion.
