I have been a full time and part time caregiver for my mom. She now has late stages of Alzheimer's and she's had symptoms of dementia for over 15 years. Caring for her has taught me a lot about this disease and I've learned how to make conversation and put a smile on her face even though she doesn't know who I am. Additionally, I've been a caregiver for my daughter who has had Type 1 Diabetes since she was 3 years old. I know how to use the glucometer, count carbs, give insulin injections, etc. I almost feel as if it was my calling to help take care of people.

My name is Irma I have been a Caregiver 4years I am companionate person I love taking care of my all patients. I always take care of them as one of own family. I make sure they are comfortable and happy. My duties are, baiting, feeding, cleaning, washing, reading.

I have been a caregiver, number one to my four (about to be five) grandchildren! I have had several summer caregiver jobs to care for special needs while school was not in session. I also cared for father while he was critically ill with cancer. I enjoy the elderly because I am not far from it! I am 56 and work three jobs. Full-time, and two part time jobs. I would like to only have one part time job.

I never knew how patient I was until I worked with elderly. I learned that they have more life experiences then me and they deserve all the respect needed. I worked for a 97 and 98 years old elderly couple for over 3 years. After several months of my hire I bonded so well with them that I treated and considered them as my grandparents. Sadly, they have passed on, but i still connect with their daughters. What I love most about this caregiver position is that I am able to willingly offer a helping hand to one who isn't completely capable. It makes me feel good that I can make someone else feel good. As a graduate in Elementary Education I never expected to join this field as a caregiver for elderly. Sincerely, I don't regret it. I believe my purpose is here knowing that one day my parents will need my help as they age, so why not practice now.

I am a out going happy individuals who loves to help others . the reason i became a caregiver is because I have a passion to help the ones in need. Most i enjoy about being a caregiver is the smiles on my clients faces at the end of my shift . biggest achievement i have is graduating college.

I have been a caregiver on and off for many years. I am a hard work and I pay attention to the small details of everything that is around me. I love just helping people and makes me smile when they do something that they couldn't do when I first start working with them. Hearing people talk and their stories of their live. I am semi-retired early and have been helping out my Grandmother who is 84. I am looking to provide similar care and companionship with those who are in need. I am a very easy going and laid back individual who enjoy playing cards, board games, cooking, and watching shows or movies with my Grandmother and can provide the same level of services with others. I am a veteran of the Navy. I traveled to 82 countries in my carrier while in the Navy and in the corporate world. I enjoy conversation with others just as much as I enjoy time reading a book or the news. I have an engineering background, so if there are handiwork items that need to be maintained I can help with things around the house. I am pet friendly. I keep my house cleaned, including the refrigerator about once a month. If you are looking for someone to provide these services with a smile. I am glad to help.

I have been providing excellent patient care since I was about fifteen. I started out in a nursing home in 08 and progressed into the hospital and now the clinic setting. I have worked with patients that have all types of complex illnesses. I am compassionate, caring, patient, and understanding. Patient care is not for everyone but I enjoy helping people get better. I enjoy watching my patients come in ill and if they do no leave better I enjoy knowing they have received a plan of care that will help them over time. I am proud of being able to make changes in people lives.

I thoroughly take pride in assisting others with living their best life while assisting them with living in their own home as long as they possibly can. That's where I come in. When I meet the person I am to care for , I want to know all about them . It's not just about the basic of care given as anyone can do that, I want to make sure I give my 110% and am always studying. I want to know what are their favorite things , where did they grow up, belief system, triggers, anything about her or him that can help me add happiness to his or her life and those around him or her. Being understood is very important for anyone especially to those who are being affected physically and or mentally. This allows me to give the right care. This all started for me as a child , my sister was born with down syndrome and I was always around individuals that had unique abilities different from others. They were innocent and always seemed complete to me. Their will power to strive was always there and their laughter contagious. My sister gave me more gifts than anyone in this world could offer to me . She taught me values of the heart and things I can see in people that others sometimes can't. Growing up, I started learning that society even some so called caregivers didn't treat people that were unique as beautiful people . I learned quick to become a strong advocate for those who are not being treated right at a young age and even had to get into fights ( which I am not proud of ) to protect my sister and others from these people . As I grew up and matured, I learned to advocate through the legal system and rules which I used on countless occasions. I want to make a difference in how the way the system is ran and can only do so much, but the little difference I make in someones life today , makes their tomorrow better. That's what I enjoy most , making a difference.

I am dependable, loving, caring and trustworthy. My grandmother inspired me to be a RN, however, I feel in love with being a CNA. Working with the medically challenged people became a passion. I enjoy the connections with the clients and their families. I am proud to be of service to people who needs me.

I love patient care and I always have. I have a passion in health care although I have never done home health I have over 8 years experience working with the elderly.

I have work with caring for the elderly, disabled and the special needs for over 26 years. I have done private home health. I have been a CNA, a med aide and have managed and help take care of special needs. I love helping people to live the best they in anyway I can. It makes me happy that I can help and make them happy. My personal achievement is helping special needs to achieve life challenges and helping them to fill joy. Everyone should be able to feel that whomever it maybe.

Being a caregiver is a rewarding experience for me as I enjoy assisting others and being there for the seniors I serve in their time of need. It is such a joy to be a companion and be able sit and talk about their life experiences as I am a great listener. My great-grandmother inspired me to be a caregiver as she was a caregiver.
