I have been a caregiver for seven years. After working with a friend's grandmother I found I had a passion for working with the elderly. I am very organized, cleanliness and organization is so important. I work great on teams, and independently. I have got my certification from the Department of Human services. I am also CPR certified. I am really passionate about the work I do. I have always enjoyed hearing my clients story and wisdom.

I've been in the medical field for over 22 years now. I've worked in all aspects from working with developmentally disabled to medically fragile children. I was born into the medical field as I had parents that were also caregivers, advocates, case managers , adult care home owners. It's what I know and what I love to do. To me it's not a job it's what I do and what i was meant to do in life.

I believe Caregiving is a gift not just a job,I love working with the client as well as with the family so the person can get the best care possible and being in communication with the Doctor(s),I also want to know the person well enough to know if something is different and/or has changed in health and mind state.I love working with a person long term and using my gift of humor and compassion to help improve one's quality of life. I have been in health care for over 10 years and I still believe that EVERY PERSON is different no matter the health challenges,I have a Provider Number issued by the State of Oregon

I believe I am a great caregiver because of my absolute dedication to the seniors i serve and their families. I find working with the senior population to be absolutely the best career choice as well as the most rewarding. I never thought I was cut out for this line of work, I originally said I wanted to be a Labor and Delivery RN. But 11 years ago I needed a job and there was an open spot so I decided that I needed to at least try out this field and it was the best decision I ever made!! I have done caregiving, medication aide and my past role was as a memory care administrator. Being a caregiver brought out the best in me, and now I can't imagine what life would be like without all the very special seniors that I have been so honored to work with.

Hi everyone, My name is Mary Dahn and I am now a CNA2 but been doing caregiving since 2016. I got certified as a CNA on June 2020 which is valid until June 2022. I do have my CPR as well, been COVID tested and up to date on all my shots record. I am looking for a long term job. I have a passion for taking care of people and I am working on the road to become a nurse in the future.

I am a sociable person with a natural capability of providing continuous care. Empathy is embedded in my personality, and I am a good listener. Moreover, I have a track record of giving elderly and child care and immensely enjoy each moment of my work.

New to the field and would like to start somewhere . I have a kind heart, and I'm very patient. I take pride in my work and I would love to give help to those who need and deserve it.

I used to take care of my grandma at home and I like helping the elderly people my grandma experience inspired me to be a caregiver and I enjoy what I do as caregiver.

I have been private caregiving for about 5 years now and I love it. Being able to care for my clients one on one, giving them the attention and quality care they deserve is rewarding. I'm also a part time student studying associate of Health / Sciences. My expected graduation date is March of 2018. I then plan to apply for nursing school and eventualy obtain my nurse practitioner license.

I became a caregiver, because I love taking care of the senior population. I feel a connection between the client and the caregiver should always be professional, and not to be a friend, but to have a friendly relationship. I enjoy being a caregiver, because it gives me something to be proud of to work with our most vulnerable people, and to give the family some relief in knowing that their loved one is taken care of. My proudest moment was when I graduated from PCC with a degree in Gerontology with a focus on Advanced Behavioral and Cognitive Care certificate. I also am following that with a bachelors degree in community health education and aging services at Portland State. I have been married for almost 14 years, and have no children, so I am free to do any shifts that are available.

Since I can remember I always had a heart for the elderly so a few months ago I decided to take the AZ caregiving course (104 hours of training) so I would be eligible to work with them. I passed my state test with flying colors and have been working at an assisted living home since then. I am compassionate, patient, motivated, accountable, respectful and professional. I am results driven and I do not shy away from hard work. When I am with someone my goal is to brighten their day and make sure they are comfortable, safe, and happy.

Hello, My name is Siobhan. I was born and raised in Portland. I am a mother and a wife. I have life-long experience with physically and mentally disabled persons. Caring for others, especially the elderly, during the most vulnerable period of their lives is something I am very passionate about. I am currently Nurses Aide at a skilled nursing facility and a pre-nursing student, I will be moving on to a BSN program this year. After graduation, I plan to specialize in wound care and/or hospice. My strongest assets are my willingness to learn and my respect for others. I am well spoken, well mannered, and constantly striving to make the most out of any opportunity I am given.

I'm a hard working woman that loves helping people and in the health field I am able to do that, hence I love my job. I have worked over 20 years in this field in many facility both private and public and with that I have developed many skills over the years.

I bring a genuine sense of compassion and openness to caregiving. My approach to caregiving is gentle, though I am able to define healthy boundaries when needed, and my sense of humor is generally in tact. I understand that receiving care from others can create a sense of vulnerability. I do my best to counter this dynamic so that people feel at ease in their own home. Keeping in mind that we're all at various stages of the aging is a wonderful tool for connection. Meeting people where they're at is always my goal. Caregiving allows me to connect with people in a genuine way; to do what I can to help people find comfort and peace of mind. Having been raised by my grandmother, I have been drawn to geriatric company and care since a young age. . Consequently, I often feel a natural connection to people within the elderly population. Most importantly, in our collective culture, we often tend to dismiss those within the aging community. Dismissing the dynamic, complex and accomplished people who live within these layers. If we overlook the autonomy and dignity of others, we as caregivers compromise the depth and value of our own experience. Aside from the deepening of character and connection that care-giving provides, the varied hours are often a complementary fit to my schedule.
