I like being a caregiver because I like to help people. Currently I mainly work as a preschool teacher and I love seeing them achieve things and help them get to goals. I enjoy cooking and organizing so if the job involves those things that would be a plus, but my main reason for becoming a caregiver is I love to help people with anything they need. I've done g-tube and trach care and minimum catheter care. I've also had experience working with older people and also younger that are sick.

I enjoy working with the clients of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds, I have demonstrated ability to develop great relationship with them and their families. I am highly organized with excellent time management skills. Also, I am trustworthy and responsible person who take great pleasure in all kinds of caregiving tasks as expressed by my coworkers and employer. Hello! My name is Matthew. I am a native Portlander and career care provider with 7+ years experience working in multiple fields of Nursing. My last 4 years have been with a leading gerontological nursing facility in Portland. I also have experience in palliative, hospice, and acute post-surgical recovery. I am a working mother of five. I am great at managing schedules and making sure everybody in my family is taken care of. I also used to take care of my grandmother from 2006-2016. Currently I work at OHSU helping patients with everything that they need.

I am a very positive person and bring a light and warm energy everywhere I go. I have faith that we all have a purpose and mine is to be a healer and an uplifter. With my Reiki Certificate I have learned the value of harnessing peaceful and healing energy and I see the shift in my clients when they see me. I personally healed from Fibromyalgia through diet and reiki, when that happened in 3 months after having chronic pain since I was 14 (due to a major car accident) I knew that I could help guide others to perfect health and demonstrate my own capacity to hold space for others to heal and feel very hopeful. I'm punctual and very compassionate, my friends would say that I am the one that they go to during times of need. I also facilitate an Empowered Women's Group that guides other's to their true life's purpose and gives steps on how to bring their dreams of being a healer into fruition. I teach that living a life of purpose is very fulfilling and can become a career. I think the most enjoyable part of being a caregiver is seeing the change in others, knowing that they are supported and have a compassionate companion who is willing to go the extra mile to make their life easier. I enjoy it so much! My personal achievement that I'm most proud of is coming into my own perfect health in order to assist others in healing themselves. It's a gift that I am very grateful for, I truly believe that the more you overcome the more you have the ability to show others that what people may say cannot be healed very well can. I am living proof!

When I was younger I would always go with my To work and see how hard she worked to help talkie care this elderly woman. When I turned 15 my mom got really sick and doctors told her that she had kidney failure. I had to help my mom out a a lot and I knew that's I knew what my passion was . To assist and help people with everyday living futures that are able to care for themselves. That is my passion.
