I am a graduate student studying occupational therapy at Pacific University. I believe that older adults deserve quality care from trained individuals who are dedicated to promoting the wellness and livelihood of those they care for. Through a combination of school, work, education, and internships I have experience working with a wide variety of clients, diagnoses, ages, and cultures. I am a patient individual who is both reliable and flexible, and I value being present and connecting with others.

I would be a great caregiver because I am kind and respect full to elderly people. I am a very good listener if people just want to sit and talk to me I am available. Also I am a pretty good driver so if people need to take a cruise downtown I would be the first person to give them rides I love driving.

What really helps me be a good care giver is that I genuinely love being around kids. When you love your job you don't really look at it as a job. All the kids and elderly I have cared for I built great relationships with. That's what I enjoy most about the job. That relationship and bond that I have with whom I'm caring for.

I have 3 months of experience working at a care home with 60+ residents, before that I use to take care of my grandpa(he had MS). I also have 2 years of experience as a housekeeper at a resort. I want to make the lives of these elders better and easier.

I enjoy helping people in any way I can, I work hard, but have boundaries as to what I should to physically in terms of weight and duration.

Hi, my name is Angie. I have been in the nursing industry for over 20 years. I began at age 20 as a CNA 2 working in a nursing and memory care setting. I later worked 7 years fulltime in the ICU. I spent a few years working in labor and delivery and that helped me decide I wanted to make a difference and help others try to keep their independence by staying in their own home. I was absolutely not happy in 2012 when my dad was in a SNF and the care was not desired. He passed away at my home comfortably. I am a strong advisor for seniors and I am good with difficult clients and family members. I have a current CPR, BLS, 1 st Aid, food handling card and am hospice certified. I have reliable transportation, insurance and enjoy running errands, companionship, cooking, light housekeeping and overall helping others. I have excellent references and am seeking 1 full time position with a lot of hours or 2 part time. Ideally I would love a live in situation. My location shows Aumsville. I also have an apartment in Sherwood so the PDX, Salem and Albany are fine as long as it's a good fit

I have worked in a medical field for 22 years and the last 5 years I have cared more towards private home care. I enjoy providing private home health in a patient's comfortable setting and gives a more intimate environment for recovery.. I have a great attitude I am positive and work well with even the hardest of patience I have compassion and understand it with knowing how it is difficult at times when our health declines. I have great interpersonal skills and I have great leadership I am able to work on my own with little to no training needed with most cases I've been very diverse and worked with all aspects of patients from recovery therapy therapy cancer treatment and hospice care . I enjoy helping patients recover giving them skills that can help better their life and make things simpler and I also like helping and assisting families during last stages so they are prepared to know what to expect most importantly giving a patient their dignity and respect and compassion at all times. I am very compassionate about my work. I love being a caregiver and helping those who need it. I have been a caregiver for about 4 years and plan on continuing to be a caregiver while I finish school for my nursing degree.

I have cared for many people in the last eighteen years and have supplemented my care knowledge with a formal education to better serve and understand the wide-variety of people that seek my services. I am currently taking an INELDA certification and will be a certified death doula by summer 2021.

My aspiration for becoming a nurse was influenced by my mother. Taking care of others has been a crucial part of my life ever since I was young. I lost my mom in a hospital because all the nurses were on strike and there was no one to take care of her. I want to be a nurse because, nurses are the best people that I have ever known. They are compassionate, patient, and empathetic people. Having worked as a CNA, taking care/helping on a day-to-day basis makes me happy. It makes me feel I did a good deed. I am left with a feeling of purpose, knowing I am needed in someone's life. The prospect of becoming a nurse motivates me to overcome life's obstacles, it makes me work even harder to accomplish my goals. I firmly believe that to ease the pain and suffering of another is the most noble act I can perform. I am prepared to see a wide variety of circumstances, some of them unpleasant. I hope I can provide comfort and care that will enable, maintain and improve someone's health physically, mentally, and emotionally. The close relationships I build, are what keeps me motivated.

I have been caregiving for nearly 10yrs. Most of that time has been in-home care working through agencies or as a privet contractor, as well as time spent caring for my own mother and grandmother. I am confident in my ability to assist with all activities of daily living and pride myself on doing it in a polite and upbeat manner. I have completed a number of care training programs over the years and have up-to-date CPR and first aid certificates.

I'm a very out going person I try not to involve my personal life to work, I've been a care giver for a quite time , I take a care of residents with respect , I always remind myself to take care of them how if it was me getting cared with respect and happiness. I enjoy being a caregiver it's just that feeling you get the honor to help someone who isn't able to do everything on their own. I'm proud that I've came this far when I first became a caregiver it was a quite a hard job I never gave up on it , I've had my ups and downs everyday is a new day I've challenge to learn till this day I'm still continuing learning a lot of things of being a caregiver , I plan on being a nurse that's why I like being around being a care giver I've learned a lot of experiences from working back to back with seniors.

I've always been comfortable with people older than myself so my first job as a Nursing Assistant all the way back in 1973 at a Skilled long term facility was a good fit. I'm a very intuitive individual and can quickly assess most people's comfort zones. I'm fairly easy going and have a calm nature but can also rise to a demanding situation with professionalism. I have a strong understanding of both Allopathic and Alternative medicine and I'm Certified in Nutritional Therapy. I have worked with therapuetic diets and, happen to enjoy cooking which I'm very good at. I'm a good communicator and am very good at engaging people in conversations and activities. Always bring to the plate a very high Standard. I was a key player in resolving some complicated Gastrointestinal issues for a client I had... I was proud to be a part of improving quality of life for her.

My name is Ashley, I am 26 years old. I am a full time student at Portland Community College and I am studying psychology. I love animals, writing, hiking, reading and swimming.

After working in a life skills class as a student mentor, I discovered my passion in working with people with disabilities. That has since expanded to geriatric, memory care and end-of-life care after spending a few years working for the aging/developmentally-disabled population. I have experience working in-home, alongside family members, and within group-home settings. It is my goal to help those I am caring for live the life they want to live. I encourage others to get out and about, make friends, and explore all this city has to offer. I have strong interpersonal skills accompanied by a warm, positive attitude. Once I develop a stronger relationship with those I care for, my silly nature begins to creep out of hiding. I love to listen to music and dance/sing while working. Although I do not play any instruments myself, I am quite attracted to live music and you can often find me at a music venue in the evenings after work. I am always "the-more-the-merrier" type of person and welcome anyone I work with/for to join me on outings if they like.

I have been a caregiver for about 10 years. I started working as a CNA in 2008 at West Hills Heatlh and Rehabilitation in Portland, Oregon. After working for couple years as a CNA, I went to school for medical billing and coding. Then after school done, I continue working as a private caregiver in nursing home/assisted living or private home. I believe I am a great caregiver because I am empathetic, compassionate, friendly and trustworthy. I encourage most of my clients to do activities and I have work well with my clients Family to maintain the usual routine of my clients. I am more than just their caregiver, I become their friends. I became a caregiver because i truly enjoy working and helping people in needs. I enjoy working with the elderly population mostly because I feel that I really am making a difference in their lives and I learn from their experiences. What I like most about being caregiver is building relationships with people from different backgrounds. I am happy that I am able to help someone in need to get better and assisting my patients to continue their activities of daily living. My proudest achievement is being a single mother . I am a strong and a hard worker. I raised my four children by working two jobs.

My personality is to be nurturing and giving, and I naturally gravitate to the helping fields of work. My clients experience me as kind and caring. Make no mistake though, when something needs to be done like pt exercises, I can make my point! I enjoy finding that special something about each client, and caring for the individual. Whether it's reading together, baking, attending church or meetings, I like to find out what makes the client tick and then run with that. I'm proud of my achievement in my very first caregiving assignment, which was winning over someone who had decided that she definitely did not like me. I found a common love, books, and she and I loved our reading sessions.
