I became a caregiver because i like to give to the elderly and help them with their everyday task and I love to be the capassionate person that likes to sit and listen to them talk about how they have lives and listen to all their storys. I have accomplished getting a Medical degree and working on furthering my degree. I have two kids that mean the World to me and try and make them have the best life as possible I am 32 years old and love helping people in my community. I am a very family oriented person family is my number one priority and my parents are very importante to me.

As a caregiver, I learned to slow down in this fast paced world and enjoy every moment where my clients are happy and healthy. As a child, I always loved Checkers, Puzzles, Rubik's Cube and other brain stimulating toys. Then, I discovered that the best opportunity to get back to these toys is to play them with my clients. I believe, we will both benefit from them. In addition, according to my family and friends, I'm a great cook. Yummy meals from different countries, freshly baked goods in the afternoon along with a great conversation... What can be better way to live?

What I enjoy more as being a caregiver is that I get to interact with that person and enjoy those good moments with them. I chose to be a caregiver because I've been a CNA for two years and I worked in nursing homes so what I wanted is to be able to work with only a person and I thought about being a caregiver instead. I am currently a college student and aiming to be an LVN and once I accomplish my dream career I will be working in my current job at the nursing home. When I see my residents I get so happy to see them they bring me so much joy and I love them like they're my own family!

Hi there, My name is Lottie. I have been a caretaker for children and adults for 25 years. I enjoy being there for others in very delicate times of their life. Giving family members peace of mind knowing that their loved ones are not alone is very rewarding. Over the last 25 years I have taken care of not only immediate family members but also, very close friends. Most recently I worked for Halcyon Health Care caring for patients and giving them companionship. My most recent patient was 90 yrs. old. I get great satisfaction knowing I contribute to my patients quality of life when life becomes challenging for them.

I decided to become a caregiver to gain more experience and see what other options are out there because initially i wanted to major in Nursing. I like that you develop a relationship with an elderly , which makes it more personal and enjoyable. I enjoy that it's flexible with your schedule. Another aspect is that you are literally making a difference in a seniors life , just by giving your time to cook and clean and also talking to them. It definitely give you a different outlook on life. I'm proud of graduating and now being in college to achieve my goal of one day working in a job that I will love. I'm 20 years old and like learning how to cook and also working out on my spare time. I'm also currently unemployed but have worked in caregiver position for about 3 months since I moved into the area.

I am 38 years old and single. I come from a family of six. I took care of my father for many years. Afterwards i helped several friends raise their children. I feel compelled to nurture. I enjoy cooking and cleaning and being helpful in general. I thrive in an environment where my help is needed.

I'm 29 years old and I've worked as a caregiver since 2012. I've worked with a number of different clients in and around the Austin area and I've learned so much because every client is different and I'm not afraid to learn. I originally started caregiving because of my grandmother who I cared for over 9 years. The joy I experienced working with her and many others lead me to realize I love caring for people and making sure that life is as simple for them as possible without the worries of aging or being disabled and not being able to do the things they once loved.

I was born this way. I have a few relatives that have special needs as well as my in laws. I guess one could say it takes a special heart for someone to take on the many needs of others and I have been told I am that heart. I do not see my self doing anything else. I am picky with the way one should be treated and cared for. I get emotional when I see things that have happened do to the lack of simple care. You treat one as you would want to be treated. I think sometimes that maybe we (as in non disabled or with needs) are the ones that are disabled and the ones with needs are actually the ones who are not. I have learned a lot from assisting others and the main one is : I can see that all my clients former and present are happy, and love life as is, as people such as my self, stress over the littlest things. Enjoy what you have to the best of my ability and live life. So much can be learned from careing for others and always it is something new. Kinda keeps you on your toes. Careing to be best of my abilites, will make me one day, a special careing Nurse. You just dont see many nurses who pitch in and help out the CNAs or attendants or caregivers. God gave me a special and unique gift and I embras it.

I became a caregiver because of my enormous amount of respect for my elders. It warms my heart to know that I am helping them and making life easier in their last years. I have over 10 years experience caring for seniors with Alzheimer's and dementia. There is no greater gift, than the honor of caring for my elders.

Love people, like to see them smile and enjoying life to the fullest. I like to see people do as much as possible for themselves, so that they don't feel helpless or a burden to anyone. I have raised my oldest granddaugther as a single-grandmother, she is now in the process of graduating next year and going to college. Her aunts, uncle and mom have all gotten their diplomas'. Worked in the medical field 15+ years, have experience working in the private sector, hospital staff relief, New-Born Nursery, ICU, CCU, Medicare visits, VA visits, private-sitter in the home or hospital, and as a companion. I have worked with the very young, and the elderly, with the handicap, disabled, people recovering from surgery, and also first time mothers. Working with different nationalities I have enjoyed it and found it very educational, as a whole it is very rewarding. I don't just see them as old people who need help, they are full of information that needs to be heard, and listened too so that information doesn't get forgotten or lost. They are someone special, they have not gotten to be as old as they are because they didn't learn anything out of life and are willing to pass on their experiences to help save some heartache. Really enjoy working with people of all ages, like working with the new born so they can experience love for the first time instead of remembering that slap on their bottom as a welcome. Like working with the elderly so that their last days will be filled with thoughts

In caring for seniors, I have found my calling. My skills, my years of experience and more importantly, my heart and passion truly have an impact on a person's quality of life. For me there is nothing more rewarding and I'm dedicated to providing the care you are looking for and your love one deserves.

I am a 37 year old single mother of two boys living in Georgetown, Tx. I have a 15 yr old & a 3 yr old. I am a Christian & also a stroke survivor myself, with lots of empathy & first hand experience dealing with recovery, healing & coping. I am currently unemployed & on disability as I look for other income.

I am a sweet, nurturing, friendly person. I'm easy to get along with and love everyone I meet. I always anticipate the needs of others and think of creative ways to make being cared for feel natural and fun. I love to spend hours listening to stories and enjoy the rewarding feeling of improving the quality of life for those I care for and their families. I am really proud of the good relationship I had with an 85 year woman I cleaned for and spent time socializing with. We would read together, sit on the porch, watch family films and tv shows she loved. We would like eachother's pictures on facebook and share recipes. She absolutely loved meeting my very well behaved children and gave me lots of sound parenting advise.

When I was 18 years old, I was very sick with a lot of Gastrointestinal disorders. I was hospitalized for more than 50 days at one point. Being able to go through many challenges has allowed me to have compassion for my patients. I am able to relate to a lot of them in many ways. It is a blessing being able to give back in return to my community. I love being able to share my testimony with my patients. It allows me to connect with my patients on a personal level and have a relationship with them. As a care giver I was attracted to being able to have relationships with my patients. I loved being able to have conversations with them and develop friendships with them. It is rewarding to be someone's companion. A lot of time my patients just want someone to talk to and listen to them. I knew going through all of my health issues and being on the other side as a patient, that the lord was calling me to give back in return. And being able to give the same quality of care that was given to me. As a caregiver, I enjoy being able to go to work every single day, to do what I love. Which is providing the best care for my patients. Wether it's cooking them a meal, taking them out on a grocery run, playing the piano for them or even just sitting down and hearing about their childhood. I enjoy making my patients smile, especially when I can see they've had a rough day. One way I connect with my patients is through humor. I enjoy being able to make jokes and laugh with my patients. One personal achievement I am proud of is becoming a newly dad. I have always wanted to be father. And now that the lord has allowed me to become one, It is such a blessing to be new dad for my baby girl. I enjoy being home with my daughter and look forward to coming home to her when I get home from work. It is one of the most rewarding gifts from my Heavenly father.

I've been in the field for quite some time I love what I do. Some goals that I have is to go back to school and finish in getting my nursing. Being a stay-at-home mom day in and day out has perfected the art of being a patient and caring person, under any circumstance! Not only will the companionship be helpful for you (or a family member), it'll be companionship for me as well! I give my all in every situation I'm placed in. I used to take care of my grandmother while living in California, it was the highlight of my day! I enjoy everyday chores and just lending a helping hand.
